I am a published poet! When I was 11, my primary school teacher was approached to suggest some good poems of his class to go into an anthology of childrens' poetry. I still have the free copy at home. In fact, I'm in the first couple of pages!
The poem, incidentally, was about SCUBA diving, which I had never done, before or since. I suppose that says something about my imagination.

My little brother kicked 'Humpty' (from the BBC's' Playschool') around our living room and his nose came off.
Subsequently, ana seemingly without anyone noticing, Humpty acquired a a bright new pink felt nose.
He never came to visit again.

I'm in a film with Julie Walters, Denholm Elliot and Richard E. Grant called Killing Dad http://us.imdb.com/Title?0097667. You can see the back of my head when they have an argument while a wedding party is going on in the hotel. I can also be seen walking across the road in the previous seen. I sat next to a very hungover Denholm Elliot and Julie Walters let me hold her coat.
My aunt is good friends with Jane Leeves from Frasier.
I live in the same road as Phil Jupitus - though I've got a feeling he may have moved as I haven't seen him for a while and got on the train with Billy from Eastenders.

I live in the same town in California that Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Tank Girl, etc.) does.
I also live near LA, so I'm sure I have lots of very tenuous connections to the rich and famous. Someone who knows someone who once worked with someone who once met someone famous, etc.
Minnie Driver once vacationed in the town I went to college in. Lots of my friends ran into her. Apparently she's very short.

I sang backing vocals on a Rock 'n' Roll Legend's biggest British hit.
Or
Remember Chuck Berry's appalling British number 1 'My Ding A Ling'?
Well that was recorded at the Locarno Ballroom in Coventry, and yes -I'm one of those idiots in the background bellowing 'I want you to play with my ding-a-ling'
Fantastic concert though.

Did I ever mention that Omar Sharif owned a house we used to go past every day on the way to school?
And my sister lives just up the road from Lenny Henry. At least she used to. I think he sold the house.

And Omar Sharif didn't own the house when I went to school.
But my mother knew all sorts of Lords and Ladies when she was secretary to the Manager of the Jockey Club. Not quite first name tersm, but they all knew her by name, too. Her particular favourite was King Hussein of Jordan, who would drive up the High Street with like 12 outriders each behind and in front of his Rolls (or so she said) - complete with black kit and on black motor bikes.

EV I've heard those stories about you and William Hague, and seen the pictures *shudder*

I once shared I lift(elevator) with Richard Branson.
I have been in Sir Malcolm Bates' office (he's the Chairman of London Transport, it seemed very inappropriate to ask him about Bob Crow at the time).

Did you get to hug Richard Branson?
I didn't know Inspector Morse had a theme tune, and I've seen a few of them.

Yes Bob, my only regret in life is not hugging Richard Branson when I got a chance. He was travelling with our (now former) CEO. Hugging him would have been a CLM - career limiting move.
The theme tune has a bit of morse code on strings.

I saw Falkirk's local celebrity in the supermarket this evening - a bloke who was once on Mastermind. Even spookier, we share the same surname, but - get this - we're not even related! It's a small world, and no mistake.
*sigh*
