It is a full moon (and last eclipse for a few years today)!

I got up at 5am, Philip Larkin stylee, and the moonlight in the living-room was so bright I could practically read by it. Ice-white moon, blazing like an arc-light. After a night that clear, of course, the roofs of all the surrounding buildings were so frosted it looked almost snow-like.

I saw the full moon last night, it was beautiful! o.o
and there were no clouds, and the church bells inside the "domkyrkan" just rang, and it was really really really windy, and really cold.
hihi, I could write a ghost story!

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Dec 10, 2011
Hello Pepe, and hello again scrumph
This morning's run was magical thanks to all that frost - never mind that the air was so cold it hurt to breathe in for the first mile, or that my fingers were numb by mile two, I was almost disappointed when the finishing post of the coffee shop at mile three hoved into view.
I did most of my christmas cards last night (the family ones anyway, that might result in a Huff if not sent in time) and will try to get the rest done tonight. Am trying hard not to grump too much about getting cards addressed to Mrs because I really do like getting the cards, I just wish they were addressed to a me that I recognise!

Hi Pepe. *waves* How absolutely wonderful to have you.
I love wolves. Don't want one on my lap, but I enjoy admiring them from a distance.
I really want today to be over with. A make-up board meeting followed by the annual Christmas open house. And my head is absolutely pounding. My cold is only about 50% gone. It's going to be a long day, I fear.

I'm so glad you are so kind to Pepe, as I knew you would. She was indeed busy this morning, as is still evident in the kitchen.

Today's going well - I was up at 5.30 with the dogs, but Dai got up at 6 and let me grab another couple of hours' blissful sleep.
Frosty morning - ideal for de-pooping the garden
Took big-dog Max for a walk in Hillsborough forest. Any time I feel the world starting to fray at the edges, what with Victoria Beckham designed car interiors, Jordan's pink horse box, bankers spiralling bonuses and the worrying fate of the euro, I take myself into the trees, which have stood for hundreds of years, and just breathe in their calm.
Quick bit of shopping - cheap Chablis in Tesco, costing per bottle what I paid for one glass in a pub last night
* goes off singing Oi am a Chablis-drinker, to the tune of The Wurzels....*
Made soup from leftovers for lunch - chicken, pea and potato, which Dai said was one of my best
Load of washing on. Admired my new size 10 capsule wardrobe, now augmented by an autumnal mix shift dress and auburn cardi from Tesco's sale rail.
Dug out a Christmas tree which we'd forgotten we had - white, with gently changing multi-coloured fibre optic lights and little metallic discs. It's very contemporary and designerish, but most importantly small enough to put on the sideboard where young dog Mini can't get at it.
Dai's son is staying tonight, so we made a banner to wave during the X-factor (Little Mix for the win!)
I've just made a lemon and coriander marinade to have with some sardine fillets as a starter tonight, which will be followed by chicken and chorizo risotto, using some of the fabulous cured meat selection we got at the Christmas market last night.
Now, is it Chablis o'clock yet?

So, welcome to both of you, Peculiar Pepe and Flamedancer! I'm glad you have been able to make yourselves at home. And you have both probably checked out the forum page at A304354 since you are fitting in so smoothly.
We had two researchers join us who were dispensers, one hygienic and the other chocolate, as I remember, and we haven't seen either of them in weeks. I hope they weren't daunted by the backlog, which has been class V in this conversation.
I'm going to start a new conversation sometime next week, when we decorate for Christmas. It's nice to have traditions.
New smiley by your hostess -- -- think "Now what?"

Blah, woke up too early again. And then my mom gave me a phone call, destroying any chance of getting *back* to sleep.
But it was about getting a lift to her women's chorus's concert tonight, so that's cool.

on snow: the first time I saw full moon on snow in all its beauty was last November when we had just moved here. I was astonished. Looking out of the back window toward the moors, there was no street light to diminish the eerie stillness of the blue glow, with the dark, crisp shadow of the house to contrast. When it happened again last night I was delighted. I stood staring for several minutes, drinking it in.
I also loved the Wizard of Oz books. I read them before I saw the film as we didn't have a TV for long stretches of my childhood.
