A Conversation for The Café
Caretaker Counter Part 15
Garius Lupus Posted Jun 9, 2000
Lil and B17 - I just had a thought about changing threads. This cafe uses about one thread per day. Why not acknowledge the fact and deliberately start a new thread every day at a particular time (say, whatever time Lil comes in in the morning). The threads could then have names like "caretaker counter for June 9th". That way you don't have to worry about how many clicks it takes to get to the bottom of the thread, you just start a new forum every day. And it makes it a little easier for reading backlog - if you don't have time, you could just read the backlog for that day (won't help me, I feel compelled to read it all).
Anyway, it was just a thought. No charge.
*watches as Pierrot flips a tiddly wink into the pot.*
See you Sunday, Pierrot and Ook.

Just looked at the mugs - some great styles. They make mine look really hi-tech. Its tall with no handle, satin finish steel with a black lid, and the name of the company who gave it to me in black letters - Nortel. I had to act a perfect ass to get it. I won it for most creative costume at Hallowe'en - I dressed as a witch (my alter-ego?).

Okay, so Peta says that soon the forums will be switched around, and you'll see the *last* twenty posts first, wich is much more convienient for those who have been in a thread a long time. So that I can deal with. It's strictly Classic Goo for me, no Alabastard, as GL calls it. All this is in reply to somehting Lil asked way up at the top of this forum
If I can do anything for anyone, eMail me at U55075@aol.com -- my usual accounts are acting funny, and my main AOL account is full of junk at the moment, so you can get at me there!
Three weeks or so 'til the road trip! I'm meeting Gw7en and Marv in a coffee house (appropriate, no?). Lil, could you manage to include a list of new regulars in that eMail? I've got time over the weekend to update the main Aroma Page!

Hey Irv, everyone. I'm sick now, something with the stomach. But today was a Jewish holiday, Shavuot (Pentecost for Christians) and we had no school and my friends and I had a picnic in a park. It was wonderful. But now I am sick and am missing a party. Darn. So could I get a ginger ale and a tums?

*Wanders in, wonders what everyone is talking about. Hopes IIEM is still un-molested (unlike h2g2)*
Large espresso and a large AZOJ, please.

Doctor John! *big hug* You left without our permission and we are not amused.
*starts priming pump on neglected AZOJ dispenser*
And before I forget, tell me about your special mug -- have you seen the mug shots page yet?

gday Looney! *waves as Looneytunes grabs teacup like a baton in a relay race*
*starts to boil water for green tea*
I notice that Demon Drawer closed the Italian restaurant. I wonder if anybody else will be interested in the property?

Hi Lil! I haven't been here in a while...can you just pour me something that'll keep me up all night--for three days ?
Caretaker Counter Part 15
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Jun 10, 2000
Well, you certainly haven't! Why do you need to be up for the next 3 days?
*leans close to IIEM to study the little dials and makes a number of tweaks, then pours drink that gives off a faint blue steam and smells of saffron, chocolate and the inside of a new car*
Try that.
*readjusts settings to normal and watches with interest to see what Cheese makes of the drink*

Barney's Bucksaws Posted Jun 10, 2000
The White's Bakery I visited is in Wasagaming, a resort town in Riding Mountain National Park. It's been there since at least the 1950's, not that I know that personally, of course. I first encountered their cinnimon buns two years ago when we drove up on what's become our Fall Leaf Tour. We try to get there every year in early October to see the borial forest in fall finery. My mother-in-law used to get the cinnimon buns hot early in the morning when they were up there camping when my husband was a tot. There's a link on my homepage to Travel Manitoba. It doesn't show White's, but it shows a pretty great place.
