We have had many excellent meals over the weeks, most home cooked and some delivered.
July 1st is Canada's birthday, and I made a great feast.
- iceberg lettuce salad
- 4-lb 12-oz (2.15 kg) of the tastiest and most tender beef rump roast
- excellent gravy from the roast broth
- creamy, buttery mashed potatoes
- fresh carrots simmered
- 2 cobs of corn, cooked and frozen, were shaved and the kernels heated
- store made apple pie with vanilla ice-cream, or home made rhubarb sauce with chopped, locally grown, strawberries.

Lunch will be roasted chicken with mashed potatoes.
Supper will probably be a Cobb salad with a peanut butter salad, made with multigrain gluten-free bread.

A really quick meal before Mrs Rev had a meeting to attend. A batch of Manwich (a sort of sloppy-joe) with several good spoons of a mild salsa. Served on toast.

Supper will be a turkey and cheese sandwich on oatmeal bread.
I splurged on lunch: I got Chinese takeout food: shrimp with vegetables, along with white rice and Crab Rangoon.

A simple Saturday supper here.
- a pound of lean ground Angus beef burger... lightly seasoned and browned.
- a day earlier, I oven roasted 8 fresh cobs of corn. Some of the shaved kernels top the beef.
- some fresh mushrooms, sliced, made another layer on the corn and beef.
- herself made a really good brown sauce to top all off the above.
- then, of course, some really smooth smashed potatoes top it all.
Oven baked about 40 minutes, and voila! A really fine cottage pie.

I was given 2 very large zucchini - and neither of us like them. No luck finding another home either, so I foresee chopping them onto the compost pit.

Sunday supper will be an experimental merge of some of my favourite food and some of hers.
A crock-pot of mac'n'cheese, with elbow pasta, Spanish onion, green onions, celery, seasonings and garlic. And a really thick and rich sauce with cream and 3 sorts of cheeses.
Then add in lobster, crab and shrimps. I am still on the fence about adding scallops.

This is a fine eating week-end here.
Saturday way the 33rd anniversary of marrying Mrs Rev. We went out for a great dinner that included: Caesar salad, baked escargots topped with melted cheese, 6 massive butter-flied shrimp that were breaded and crispy, some beans and carrots, some rather dry mashed potatoes, a serving of ricotta stuffed manicotti pasta baked in a rosee sauce and topped with melted cheese. A number of pieces of garlic bread through-out. She finished with a wedge of really good lemon meringue pie.
Monday now is a statutory holiday - which means little ro a pair of retirees. But we will feast. Caesar salad, roasted pork tenderloin - with gravy, creamy garlic mashed potatoes, bread dressing, fresh cobs of local corn - lightly simmered then salt dusted. Cherry cheese cake.
