Today is the first day of the BEST of your life
Stay true to yourself and enjoy it

http://h2g2.com/h2g2/oldblobs/white/2688648.gifWelcome

I am Canadian, (one of many here,) in my later 50's, and in the 31st year of my 2nd marriage. My baby from a first marriage has made me the very proud "Poppy" of 4 delightful grand-kids, and now there is a great-grand-child. I served our military for 21 years in uniform and 16 years more as an 'embedded' contractor. Before all of that, I was a farm lad, son of a general contractor and generally adept at many things.

In June of 2014, I was medically forced into work retirement when my heart went silly. After nearly 40 years of working and paying into "systems", it has been a helluva challenge to now depend on those systems.

I might appear to some as a bit rough around the edges, even brutally blunt at times. Please, don't let that put you off at all. Have a seat, choose a relaxing or refreshing beverage, and let's just visit for a while. Please mind the cats though, they always want the chair you choose ...

"Only the dead are without fear" is a line from an old western
movie (The Magnificent Seven). I have faced it many times,
I don't fear it. Death has long been cheated, and over-due.

I have more false fangs than real ones, my vision is acceptable because of corrective lenses
of bullet-proof glass, both ears are assisted 'bionically', and I have a teeny computer
and batteries in my chest - I have my own personal defibrillator built-in.
Just call me "The $60,000 Man" (Canadian funds, all taxes inclusive).

For any 'fundamentalist' atheists or religionists to ponder:
'Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence'
(Carl Sagan)

Atheism may be a result of personal rationalizations,
but blind hatred is simple stupidity.
