I just heard this old song on the radio just now - I love it.

'Stay with me till dawn' - Judy Tzuke. I can't think of any other song of hers, I can remember. There's been a few one off classic hits by various artistes I reckon.
It must be quite strange to produce one song that everyone knows and mostly loves, but no other really big hit.
What's your favourite one off?

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky. Posted Oct 3, 2008
I hope I've not missed the point but...this is a totally unexpected song from one of the finest rock bands in the world!
Ok, it's not actual footage of Bon, but it is really good song.
AC/DC - Love Song.

They did follow it up...and then shit happened, it's a long story.
But they will always be remembered for that one song.

Stray Cat Strut - the Stray Cats - you never ever hear it these days

Love Shack - the B52s

Up the Junction - Squeeze

(DLT - WTF?)
In terms of artists playing against their usual type?
I've always thought Sunny Afternoon was completely different from everything else they ever did, but captured a louche laid-back rock'n'rolliness of which only happened during the three years either side of 1970.

I can't quite work out under what circumstances the Dandy Warhols, Stray Cats, B52s or Squeeze would be defined as one-offs.
Each and every one of those bands has released at least three songs which I prefer over the one mentioned...

Ah, but I can never tie artists to songs, it's a miracle I managed to post those three! Cool for cats strayed across my consciousness, but not anything by any of the others.

(I'm often pretty rubbish at remembering all the ins and outs of song names, and who sang what, when.. But when it's a one hit wonder, it's much easier. But then someone always comes along and says, what about this one?....what about that one?).
