Are their are any tv commercial that make you cringe when you watch them?
My current no 1 is for a well known furniture store, which has a line of people running a log waving their arms about above their head

I've already added this to petty hates. The one with the little kid dancing to the mobile ringtone. Then his mum comes over at the end and dances with him. I hate it. The way I'm supposed to say "isn't it cute". Yuk

Also the one where the guy is about to dance with a girl on the dancefloor but she rushes off because her hair messes up at midnight.

Always seems a crazy way to meet someone on a dance floor. Flirting on a dancefloor is something I've never been able to do. Also in a real club he would have gone off and grabbed something else.

The expressions on their faces throughout the whole ad are what annoy me most.

Any add for a reality TV show.

2 adverts get up my nose. The first one is for Kandoo- a toilet towel for ankle biters, it has a really annoying voice over a woman with a husky voice waffling about "the princess of the potty" etc, and a silly cartoon frog wiping its arse!
The other one is for tampons, I know that adverts for these products are inevitable, but do they have to be totally duff as well? Its the one where its supposed to be a 1970's kids show like How or Magpie- its very embarrassing because it isn't remotely clever or funny.

I'd like to add a whole genre - that of Perfume adverts. Pretentious tosh the lot of them and they stretch back over decades.

Agreed. "CK One for a man. Or a woman". Or an idiot.

Those ads for people like Nike and Reebok where very ernest, serious, and to be frank, rather scary people give sound bites about giving it everything, being a winner, being the best you can. Which brings me to...

A few nights ago Mrs Gosho and I were watching tv, and an ad came on which looked at first like one of these cliche sporting equipment ads - lots of headshots of very serious and intense people saying stuff like "No second place." "No silver or bronze." "No runner-up." Then one of them said "There is only the victor and the vanquished" followed by another who told us "We know where *we* stand". Then we saw several stills of US soldiers greeting happy Iraqi civilians.

Any L'Oreal commercial gets me changing channels. What did it for me was the original tag line, "Because I'm worth it". Considering the celebrities they used in the ads, the money they earn and the cost of L'Oreal products, I always thought, "Because you can ing afford it!" They've changed the tag line, but I still can't stand those ads.

There's another ad at the moment that I also refuse to watch but I can't remember what it's for - possibly because it's so bad that I've never seen the whole ad.

I don't want to see little irritating kids sitting on the loo when I'm having my breakfast. I know this is probably the effect that some twit at the advertising agency wants.

it has to be those awful budget ads for those debt companies - and they're on ALL DAY!!

The advert for the toilet spray with the stupid kid.

The new honda advert - which I still haven't seen and everyone keeps raving about, the other day hubby called me over and there was a making-of advert but it didn't show the bloody advert

Well, its stupid really isnt it... When did humans transform from, 'I tripped on a step, ill look out more next time.' to 'I tripped on a step, ill have to make loads of money off of that.'

That shampoo advert (I forget which brand) where the couple are on the sofa, vacuous bimbo-head looks at the magazine hubby is reading - it shows an ad for this shampoo. She runs up stairs, followed by her idiot hubby (thinking to himself that the night's suddenly improved). She dives into the bathroom, shutting hubby out. Then come the "ooohs" and "aaahs" and other fake orgasm sounds as she washes her hair. The punchline, or whatever, is when the hubby walks into the bathroom and bimbo-head say "you only want me for my body" (in a tone of voice which took me ages to work out what she was saying). Pointless husband looks into camera.

It makes me want to scream. I don't know why.

I have just thought of two more but can not rember the namr of one of the products as i have not seen it for several years

The First was of a woman dancing round the floor with her vacum cleaner sprinkling powder on the floor while some was singing shake, and vac, you take the shake . and vac

The Other the product i can not rember a mother jumps on the table while her family stare at her in amasement while eating what ever was being advertised

the advert for butlins/haven where the family are magically transported to the park doing *fun* things...especially the bit where the kid is transported to the go-karts and the evidence of the age of the advert (a child dressed as a power ranger???) is on show....oh and the bit where the stupid girl sings
