Where are our researchers from?
wednesday Posted Aug 21, 2000
Found this site today - and its definitely helped me through a slow Monday. Born and raised in Marlow, Bucks down the road from Henley (as in regatta) near to Windsor (as in Castle). Pretty tourist town where you can do a decent pub crawl (13ish pubs/bars) 1/2 hr from Reading.

Nice to see a reference to County Kerry. I had a girlfriend called Kerry who, coincidentally, was also beautiful when wet.
I'm from Belfast originally, but have spent most of my life in England, currently Wokingham. More details on Home Page...

Born in Pennsylvania Dutch country, formative years in central Florida, recently transplanted to America's Heartland (Missouri) (finally someplace with seasons again--yeah!).
Why isn't there a map with different-colored dots for numbers of researchers reporting that place as their location? Could be interactive: click on a dot and you get to see who says they're from there (completely discretionary to answer of course). I'd love to talk to people from the Kansas City SMA (Standard Metro Area, sorry). Where can I get great Chinese take-out? What's the best country drive in the area? Etc. ad nauseaum.
Sorry, I sometimes get carried away. To answer the actual question, I'm in the Kansas City area.

I am from Central Wisconsin. That would be located precisely in the the approximate middle-of-nowhere or as others have referred to it BFE.

Er, um. Well, being very new to h2g2, not yet 4 days old, I, er, am not in a good position to undertake such projects. Not that I'm not willing, of course, but I just have no idea how to go about such a thing. I don't write HTML or Guide ML, and, um, would be rather clueless as to process and maps and...
Hmm. I retract my suggestion on the grounds that I am unprepared to carry it out myself and should therefore have kept my mouth shut. You all, being the wonderful and highly attractive people that you are, will hopefully forgive my indiscretion.
