I've just been watching a programme on TV listing all those celebrities/personalities who died in 2002.
Apparently, Spike Milligan's chosen epitaph was "I told you I was ill."
Perhaps you have chosen your own epitaph, or have heard a good one from somewhere...do share it!
William.

Lord Byron wrote this one for Castlereagh:
Posterity will ne'er survey
a nobler grave than this:
Here lie the bones of Castlereagh:
Stop, traveller, and piss.

Now you mention it, I *did* notice a rather smart one down the local cemetary. Can't for the life of me remember it anymore, though, so it can't have been that great.

Hilaire Belloc famously wrote:
When I am dead,
I hope it may be said,
'His sins were scarlet,
But his books were read'.

As you are now, so once was I,
As I am now, so you soon shal be,
Pity yourself, no fear for me"

My favourate programme ever, probably.... I got all the videos a few years back, and just watched them so much, that I've given them a bit of a rest recently; so I can watch them again, at some point, and appreciate them more
"Here lays the body, arms, and legs of 2legs, and some other spare body parts probably" "Here lays 2legs, let people say of him that he was"

the autist formerly known as flinch Posted Jan 7, 2003
Bertolt Brecht:
"He had oppinions, and people listened to them"
In my local cemetary:
"Here lays Dr Sim,
And those he treated around him"
And my own should read:
"Here lies Flinch, Lord of Doom,
A man of monumental gloom.
You will be joining him. Soon."

The one I love, and unfortunately I can't use myself, is one Billy Connelly wants...
In little tiny script, in the middle of his headstone so you have to walk right up to read it;
"You're standing on my balls"

How about:
"Was that it then?" (possibly followed by "Is there nothing more?")
"I want a refund"
"I never could get the hang of Thursdays"
PS on what day of the week did DNA die?
