A Conversation for Ask h2g2
Is there a .com with your h2g2 nickname?
Gnomon - time to move on Started conversation Sep 26, 2002
Inspired by the thread about searching for your h2g2 name in Google, I tried putting my name in a .com address: www.myname.com.
I found a page about a company selling Graphical Information Systems. Their logo was a sundial obviously drawn by somebody who had never seen a sundial. (Would you buy products from a company who can't even get their own logo right?)
Do any of you get anything interesting when you try it?

A picture of a rat with a beer and a cigarette Which leads to a page with the URL as a title and saying "at the end of the Internet". I don't understand...

Well, as expected polidari.com came up with nada, but wormwood.com appears to be the place to go if you want a performance yacht!

Hey... what are you saying, Whisky?

Tube - the being being back for the time being Posted Sep 26, 2002
There's Tube.com, ATube.com and TheTube.com, Tube.org, [Broken link removed by Moderator].net, Tube.de ... I stopped looking then.

Orcus Posted Sep 26, 2002
However, Orcus.co.uk provide IT services as do Orcus.net - except they're in New Zealand...
Intriguingly [Broken link removed by Moderator].org gets you diverted to a page with lots of naked ladies who apparently take all their clothes off...

no. .com here
but I had if I could be sued by Paramount pictures, because they stole my nick name, mangled it and trade marked it to use it in Enterprice as name for charrector called Dr Phlox.
my nick is very simular, but I have it longer (about 5 yrs), but no trademark on it.
one other remarque is that my nick was first phelox. I had e-mail adres with it startrekmail, but they stopped.

[Broken link removed by Moderator].com wasn't there - but www.ane.com exists - and belongs to "Attorney Network Exchange"
www.rikke.com is one greenish page sayng "rikke.com" in small letters - and an email adress. Not very exciting at all...

But Phlox is a common name for a type of flower. You can't trademark a word like that.

There is no website at peregrin dot com, but the name is registered by somebody or other, much to my immense annoyance. I had to use my real name in my website address instead!
