I think I'm there somewhere, disguised as a trailer for a film, which is a disguise for a new Mercedes....

? Hey that wasn't a broken link! Works fine from here.
If you're in the UK I recommend grabbing a .me.uk - they're relatively new, so there's more still available than .co.uk, .org, .net, .com, etc. It's meant for personal websites, anyway

Oh yeah that really annoyed me, cos it looked like a really good film, and so I waited and waited but it didn't come out... so I looked on IMDB and there wasn't any sign of it... so I did a Google search and the truth dawned
Ironically though, they've sold the film rights to the story, as a production company thinks it *would* make a good film I don't know if they could get whassisname as the star but it would be very cool

.com and co.uk seem to be webhosting services, sqatting on my name. toerags!
Minashouse.co.uk is sadly defunct as I didn't renew it after a year.

I can think of one or two suitable domain names for a site for you, Mina, but I suspect they'd be blocked from most child-friendly ISPs

Every time I see your name, pheloxi, I thnk of Dr. Phlox.
presently.com; you guide to the internet. presently.org was registered. presently.net is currently under construction. presently.de gives me links to other names. I think that's enough.
Interestingly, as a side note, plap, a word I thought I'd invented gives me this: http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/3988/ I love the internet.

Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic. Posted Sep 28, 2002
a search on google for "flying ostrich" brings up my h2g2 PS as the top option.
There is however the more pedestrian http://www.ostrich.com - the advertisement for their free news letter contains amongst other things
10 X recipes for Ostrich meat - so I think we'll be steering well clear of that one from now on!
Flying ostrich.anything else - doesn't work.
http://www.clive.com - is a web names subscriber thingy.
http://www.clive.org - is a placeholder for something isn't appearing yet.
http://www.clive.net - has someone's holiday snaps from London.
www.clive.co.uk. - doesn't do much of anything really.
Therefore I am forced to conclude....
I AM UNIQUE!!

Congratulations
Sometimes I wish I had chosen a more unique name myself But Peregrin is a long standing nick for me, dating to before I entered the realms of the internet, so I'm not likely to give it up.

a girl called Ben Posted Sep 29, 2002
No girlcalledben.anything, I am pleased to say. Google takes you straight to my u-space here, which is how it should be.
There is a http://www.ben.com (ben dot com) which is about this bloke and his garage. http://ben.co.uk (ben dot co dot uk) redirects you to a sign saying 'Forbidden: You do not have permission to access the requested file on this server" which is not very friendly.
agcb.org (agcb dot org) is the Aberdeen and Grampian Conference Bureau, which is a tad surreal.
Interesting question Gnomon. Thanks for asking it.

GreyDesk kicks out 1,740 results, and I'm 1,739 of them.
The remaining one result is a picture of a piece of graffitti saying, "Greydesk". And guess who saved that URL in a journal entry months and months ago
