Hi, Della:
I haven't heard "Shut Uppa Your Face",
but the title reminds me of a song
with the lines
"Shut your mouth, go away,
Mamma, look, a booboo day"
which was pretty bad.

Are we thinking of "O Superman" by Laurie Anderson? Went on for about 8 minutes with an incessant "ah-ah-ah-ah-ah" backing?

ok, the song i hate most i 'hazard' because it's so depressing, i cant even sit through it.
but the worst thing ever recorded has to be (and i cant believe none of you mentioned this when you were discussing leonard nimoy earlier) is 'lucy in the sky with diamonds' groaned by William Shatner. I maintain that this is the owrst song becaus he maintains that he actually sang it!

'O Superman' - that's the one. I remember lyrics like, 'O Superman. Dear John. Dear Mum and Dad' It was a horrible, meaningless song. I wish I hadn't remembered it!

SAGAPPO. It was just dire. Or is that too topical?

What got me was the weird John Cleese-style marching- they were trying to be hard- while wiggling their legs around below the knee

THE RESULTS SO FAR!
Cliff Richards Millenium Prayer is along side the All Saints - Under the Bridge:... 3 votes each.
Joint second place, all with 2 votes are:
Anything by William Shatner, Charlotte Church and Britney Spears.
W. Shatners "Lucy in the sky" gets a mention but I remember a clip of him doing some sort of scat over a jazz backing track. He was kind of singing/talking and it went a bit like this:-
Oh yeah man, like we all need to travel, gotta go, gotta keep on moving...TAXI..... slip on board, groove the music...TAXI....
I kid you not!!

Having done a fair amount of music journalism , I have received countless unutterably bad CDs in the last few years for review purposes. If you ever encounter CD's by any of the following, I advise you to steer well clear:
Solvent, The Junket, Sludgefeast, Radar
Of course, some obscure bands are great. Who was the first person in the country to hear gems by Silver Sun, The Notwist, Salako and Sebadoh (all for free). Yours truly.

The tweenies and the kids version of sclub7, in fact any kids, they should learn patience and keep practising until they are adults. Then they will be better and less likely to crash and burn quite so quickly and also will not have to endure being on programmes which will show you up as a t**t as a child.

Laurie Anderson's Oh Superman is about the getting disconnected of reality and family by American society.

a very big fan of Laurie Anderson
p.s. you should hear the late 80s live-version of Oh Superman, real swinging version.
