I still like Jack Bennys old bit:
robber:your money or your life!
long dramatic pause:
robber:well???
Benny: I'm thinking, I'm thinking.

now I suppose some moderator will say I've violated copyright because Benny hasn't been dead that many years.

I'm going to describe a cartoon I saw once - if we're going to talk about the borg.
Imagine the Enterprise stood still in space, before it a massive, massive Rubik cube. The caption reads....
The Borg are back.... and they've got clever.

"Blood. Hope it's not Chris' blood"

"It's a good thing I rescued you, you were almost a gerbil sandwich!"
~Barry Burton, again.
"Here. You should have this lockpick because you, are the master of unlocking"
~Yet another Barry-ism
"It took me a while to realise that it wasn't a case of insanity - after all, if you know you're insane then clearly you must be sane because you're able to perceive enough to know there's something wrong with you - but something a lot less interesting. Literary insanity carries with it a certain level of fascination, a morbid curiosity if you will. This, quite simply, was idiocy."
"...And so there it was. It was small, unimpressive and somewhat green looking - and yet, strangely mesmerising. The urge to touch was great, and it was with some trepidation that I reached out and poked it. It squished. And it was the most disgusting thing I'd ever known."
"For a period of time there was almost the hope that intelligence could regain a foothold and secure a bastion against the overwhelming forces of inanity. Then you arrived and it was a mortal blow to the defences of literacy..."
~Dearheart -- Another fraction of the myriad personalities that are the 'thulhu.

Moonglum Clampflower (MornC), Muse of Ego, Keeper of the Lamp and Guru, (aka Happinose) Posted May 5, 2002
The quote I have in mind is a conversation between Roy Batty and Dr Elden Tyrell.
Tyrell "You were made as well as we could make you."
Batty "But not to last"
Tyrell "The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very brightly Roy."
Batty "I have done questionable things."
Tyrell "And you have done incredible things, revell in your time."
Batty "Nothing that the god of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for."
Later in the film Roy faces his nemesis, the cop who is hunting him. The cop shoots his gun and narrowly misses Roy, who says...
"Good doesn't seem to be good enough!! Aren't you the good man?"
... I'll get my coat.

"The ultimate barrier is one's own viewpoint"
It is the key line in a book by a very popular author, favourite of many H2G2 researchers.
It just about sums it all up, I think. Anyone recognise it?
