irrelevent point of information it occured to me to say: Gandark has two bedroll things, in two different pockets, a sleeping bag (doubles as a blanket or extremely large towel in emergancy situations) and a hammock, which is also used for tying up the sleeping bag

*bushes rustle with the sound of heavy animal breathing*

[Kylen] notices the rustle and leeps forward, ready to attack whatever animal it might be* I really hope It's not a snake...

[Anole] joins Kylen with fire enchanted short sword at ready*
"What do you think is there?"

[Kylen] "Not a snake, I know that. Thank whatever supreme being there is."

[Anole] looks at Kylen*
"Hate snakes?"

where did you get an enchanted sword? That would be an unliscensed item. I specifically remember saying you'd have to /find/ magic swords on quests.

Whatever it was darts away, but is circling round the campfire, looking for an advantage.

Oh yeah, better look after my own character as well lol

[Sharp]: ** "Hu-ah-wuz-" he had fallen asleep standing up, leaning on one of the hammock poles for support. *Also hears some of said rustling* "Think we ought to toss it some food? I do happen to have this rather stale endpiece to an old bread loaf..." *chucks it at what ever the creature is.*

Didn't Sharp engrave runes on it to enchant it or at lease give it some sort of magical energy? That is one of his talents, right? </>

[Kylen] "Yes I hate snakes, but I hate the giant spiders in this forest more." he says, chasing after the animal.

[Anole] Then, be ready for whatever comes out. *gets into a defensive stance*

[Sharp]: "Ow! Whatever that was didn't like the stale bread (obviously)." *Rubs a spot on his head where the bread had came back and hit him.* ", yes, I can etch runes onto things, but don't quite yet have enough prowess to make them permanently bind..." *Renews the blade's enchantment*

[Sharp]: *Stomps on an ugly looking fanged insect.* }squish!{

*the "bug" turns out to be the end of a larger animal's tail. Tobias glances between the now rearing up envisionment of terror, and his newly aquired timebomb. Realising the time-bomb will not help right now, he puts it into his tiny bag that can hold an infinite number of items, a standard set by many different RPG games* Right, folks, we have a problem. Let's sort it. *rolls up sleeves and charges a lightning spell*

[Sharp]: "Um,-my mistake! Eh-heh." * makes this sort of a face: ^_^; <-done and said nervously* *Tobias, since this one's mostly my fault, (),-I can help to back you up." *Wonders when would be a good opportunity to cast rock*

As I've said repeatedly, sword enchantment is extremely powerful, but generally only lasts about fifteen seconds. There do exist semi-permininatly enchanted swords, but they are very rare and hard to find -- and you only find them by participating in organized quests and by being very lucky. One such perminantly enchated sword is the Dark Sword we're carrying.

As a wizard, your character, Sharp, can cast a spell on an allies sword during battle, giving them most of the power of an enchanted sword for about fifteen seconds. There is a strategy about when the best times are to do this and which types of spells to cast that everybody will learn as we go along.

Now, you threw a piece of bread, right?


The animal makes a suprised noise when hit by the bread.

The creature - a huge wolf - climbs up on a high rock nobody had taken any notice of before directly above the clearing, and howls at the moon. This haunting sound is so loud, there is no doubt that even the King would have been able to hear it back in his palace.

At once, the party is attacked by four huge wolves!

[Gandark] I wasn't asleep! I was ... daydreaming! Er, uh ...

*is confused by the chaos, and not quite fully awake yet*

What the heck? I'm the DM - I bring up the monsters. Wolves on the first night was part of the plan. The Dark Forest thread was for making up your own monsters. Read the differences between p2p and organized quests A5191030

[Kylen] I notice the wolves start circling, hunting. "ready for a long night, boys?" I ask, reading the shadows around me to attack, creating shadow daggers.

The wolves which momentarily leaped into the clearing were gone again in an instant, as if only wishing to guage reaction time. More seem to be gathering.

[Gandark] (now fully awake) I wonder why they don't attack ... they're holding back for some reason. Is it the fire?
