How 'bout dem Seachickens?

Taking a quick look at the latest list of top 50 free agents, Pettitgout and Gandy are still in there, but Big Walter Jones appears to have dropped off the board.
Anybody know why? The Seahawks official page is reticent on the matter, to say the least - did we franchise him again, or is he staying put? Or is there some other reason (like his leg dropped off), that he should have dropped out of the listings?

So I've just seen. What a waste, especially as we need Simmons on board as well. Oh well, I assume that Ferfguson knows what he's doing...
Apparently, we had also expressed interestiin Keith Brooking and Donovan Darius...
I can see some bizarre deal out of this between us, the Raiders, The Jags (Is Darius still with them?) and god knows who else...

Brooking has re-signed long term with the Falcons... Darius is also franchised... dunno what that does to your theory

I dunno - I can see some bizarre everybody swap franchised players type thing so nobody ends up with a two pick first round...
It's about time we were involved in something like that.

With Robertson gone... here's a few potential replacements... (in no particular order)
Kwamie Lassiter
Keion Carpenter
Izell Reese
Eric Brown
Devin Bush
Earl Little
Dexter Jackson
Rodney Harrison has been dumped by the Chargers as well... not a FS but, you never know

To quote Jimmy, If I had my 'druthers, I'd have Kwamie Lassiter. Harrison has been a great player, but how much longer has he got left in him at the highest level of the game?

I think a lot of teams will think the same way about Lassiter... I have a feeling Arizona are going to suffer a mass exodus... Plummer, Boston, Lassiter amongst others... I wonder what McGinnis' big plan is?

T0 carry on being in the NFL basement for some considerable time?
Devin Bush's name stands out on that list as well...

Well, Bush has spent his career backing up in Atlanta, St Louis and Cleveland... Dexter Jackson would be next I'd say, though probably expensive.... how about Carpenter who started last year for Atlanta?

It's got to be someone who makes the money worthwhile-someone who really reperesents an upgrade over what we have now, to be honest...
I don't know anything about Carpenter, but the Falcons last year where a pretty handy outfit.

I think you'd term him as a 'solid pro'... not outstanding but won't kill you... probably needs to fit into the system...
Any good safeties in the draft?

I dunno - I don't really know what's in the draft except some good D-Linemen, I think.
I would think Safety might well be high on our shopping list. Thinking about it, didn't we move Reggie Tongue when we signed him, so maybe Harrison would be good fit for a year at SS, Reggie going back to FS and drafting one as well...

Well, there's a funny thing. Just looking at the Seahawks shop to see if I can find a replacement for my old Hawks fleece, and what do I see - the Shawn Springs home and away jerseys both reduced by $20.
Maybe they know something that they aren't letting on?

Very noticeable as being the only numbered jersey in the sale...even the Trent Dilfer jersey is still $65, and he's got as much chance of starting next year as I have of being Pope (barring injury, of course...)

... so if the Pope gets injured (and lets face it, at his age it's higly likely!!) you're next in line to replace him?
Could you absolve me of all past misdemeaners(sic) please...

Actually, I was thinking that if the Pope gets injured, I might get a shot at the starting FS position at Seattle...

I think it's fair to say that at my age and level of fitness, I'd struggle to make snap holder on kicks...
