The Road to Town
Carmel Bunny, spokes stuffie for cute things everywhere Posted Jun 16, 2002
*unexpectedly, the part of the bank the pugs and wagon rest on dislodges itself from the shore and begins to swim. The pugs cross the stream on the back of a huge aligator snapping turtle.*
Ruppy - Fnur, fnerr, foof! (Wow, we really are luck dogs, aren't we?!)
Tidbit - Gnurgle, fwerf-fwerf, frup! (Oh, come on, I thought this scene was stupid in 'Milo and Otis'!)
Ruppy - Mruff, mroof, fnoo-fnark, mrew! (Shut up, Tidbit, and thank the nice turtle! Thank you, Mr. Turtle.)
*the pugs begin to snuffle aimlessly in the high grass on the far bank, finding many scents, but none they can follow (they have the worst noses in the canine world)*

Garius Lupus Posted Jun 16, 2002
*As GL comes within range of the Apes, he opens fire. The Apes scatter and GL wishes the guns of this period were more accurate.*

Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Jun 16, 2002
*uses the flame-throwing device on the dragonFLYbot to light a fire behind the Apes thus funnelling them to the East, towards GL but also towards the stream* she can see Carmel and the pugs on the other side (East) of the stream* Styx is crossing the stream by the Turtle Crossing to join Carmel*
*amy divebombs, shooting with three guns, from the west to 'encourage' the apes to move in the right direction*
The Road to Town
Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Jun 16, 2002
*Styx catches up with Carmel*
[Styx] Bunny bring cart, follow Styx. We dam stream to the south. Water spread out towards apes. Wolf Boy and others stay dry on this side. Higher ground. Shoot apes. Heh heh heh.
*Styx leads Carmel and the Pugs downstream*
The Road to Town
Ape Posted Jun 16, 2002
*unexpectedly the Apes fire several firework type rockets up towards the dragonFLYbot. Assisted by the favourable winds and some good aiming, the salvo of ground-to-air rockets heads straight towards Amy curving into her position from all sides*
Ook [go on .... go on .... ]

*Carmel slowly regains sensibility*
Now, now, there's no call for that sort of language...oh, you mean dam the stream. I shall do my best.*
*The pugs, especially Ruppy, joyously dig free slate cobbles. Carmel doesn't do too baddly for a 2 ounce soft toy moving 2 pound slate cobbles (soft toys are wirey).*

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Jun 17, 2002
YIHAAAAAA BONNIE! YIHAAAAA CLYDE!
Hang on to your hats, everyone!
*stage coach rocking dangerously on the uneven ground as T stears, or attempts to stear towards the stream*
The Road to Town
Coniraya Posted Jun 17, 2002
*quickly pads Amos with seat cushions, so that he isn't thrown round as the coach lurches forward and bounces over the stony road*
That fire is spreading rather quickly.
Still, at the rate T is getting Bonnie and Clyde to move, we should out run it.
The Road to Town
Munchkin Posted Jun 17, 2002
*Munchkin was more than likely searching for Apes before the fire started. However the fire has led to him tearing through the grass, accompanied by a Gnu and a coyote at close quarters. He bursts out on to the road again as the coach disappears into the grass on the other side. That is the way to the stream, isn't it?*
Blast! I say, where are you off to?
*Chases off after the coach, the fire close behind*

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC Posted Jun 17, 2002
/* Zeppo is overjoyed to see all the running animals and joins in chasing them along with the pugs, then splashes through the stream, then following Styx he is thrilled to find that he is allowed to dig sending dirt and rocks into the stream. This very well may be the happiest day of his life. */

Rev. Elijah Lovejello Posted Jun 17, 2002
*Looks back at the fire and the posse rushing forward, and urges his horse forward*
We had better move on faster and get to that pass before we get trampled or burned!
The Road to Town
Garius Lupus Posted Jun 17, 2002
*Fires wildly at the Apes as they sporadically return the fire. One Ape falls, but it appears to have been due to a shot from another Ape.*
The Road to Town
Ape Posted Jun 17, 2002
Oooook [We got the Ant!]
Ooook [Let's go!]
*The Apes get on their horses and ride off to the west beyond the fire and pick up a trail running parallel to the road.*

Dizzy the Void Posted Jun 17, 2002
[X, who up to this point has been dashing along under his own power, jumps onto the coach and begins firing at the apes with his X-Buster, which is more accurate but slower-moving]
The Road to Town
Garius Lupus Posted Jun 17, 2002
*GL fires a few parting shots at the apes, then turns and heads back east around the fire. With sunset approaching, the wind has died and the fire has slowed down appreciably. There is a rumble of thunder as a storm approaches.*
At least according to Butch, and he should know - he's way up on a mountain and can see for miles.
The Road to Town
Coniraya Posted Jun 17, 2002
Can I hear thunder? Or is it just the sound of the wheels over this bumpy road.
I hope Amos isn't getting rattled about too much.
*tucks the seat cushions in more firmly around the inert Amos*

Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Jun 17, 2002
*reappears at her last known position* there is a flash of lightning*
There's nothing like making an entrance!
*she notices the apes heading north towards the pass and various members of the Posse hanging around, some covered in mud* there is a smell of fireworks in the air*
