Just as long as you don't copyright it first....

Tac, I posted in reply to something you said on a previous page, and I don't even know what it was at this point. smiley - erm I know, it made absolutely no sense when it showed up there, and I'm not sure it made any sense at all if it had followed the one it was in reply to.

I'd heard that sort of thing done with the counties in Maryland one time - been a long, long time ago, though, so I don't recall what tune it was set to.

Fluffy Pink Rabbit. (Remember that polyester has feelings, too)

I see.

Tom Lehrer set the names of all the
elements to the tune of Gilbert & Sullivan's
"Major General Song."

I wonder how many counties there are in Monaco? smiley - huh
I hope they'd be easy to fit into a song. smiley - tongueout

Putting things to "Major General Song" is easy. I could do it with the Italics names, if I had a free hour.

You're welcome. I was the prop master for a doomed production of P. of P. with a cast of 260.

In what way was it doomed, Mr. C?

Was the stage the size of a postage stamp,
so the 260 cast members had to stand on each
other's shoulders? How many fell forward into
the audience? How many fell backwards into the
backdrop? (Sounds like a scene from the film
"Foul Play," only with "The Mikado" as the doomed
G&S production.)

Something like that, actually. There were so many people, that they couldn't all fit on the stage at once to sing, and they were so far apart, that one side was always a step behind the other. And the wings were crowded. And the pirate ship was bulky and took up lots of room. And the sand dunes looked like giant pink rocks. And the Major General forgot all of his lines and slurred his singing.

When Shorty+ was in early elementary school (first grade, I think it was), they did a musical play called Going Buggy, and every class in that grade took part in the play - and there were probably 150 little kids all together. It was impossible to fit everyone on the stage at once, of course, so they had them spread all around the auditorium in the aisles singing and dancing, and each different kind of insect had it's turn on stage. If I recall correctly, it was rehearsed enough that things went rather smoothly, believe it or not - the teacher in charge of this play was a very brave woman to take on such a challenge! Of course at that age, if one bunch is a step or so behind the rest of them, you kind of expect it, but it turned out surprising well done.
