Z - if by "running behind closed doors" you mean testing, and if by "a while" you mean slightly less than two weeks, you're spot on And thanks for being so optimistic about the whole thing. Very well put

As far as I'm concerned, the only change is that before, I used to scan random Edited Entries and all the Entries on the Front Page for typing errors. I would then post these to Editorial Feedback and the eds would make the changes when they got the time. Now it is exactly the same except that I make the changes myself and report to the eds what I've done. Saves them a lot of work and means I can handle a lot more entries in a day.

Good on you curators. Makes me proud yet again of this community I have been so happy to stumble into, two -- wait, three years ago.

Thank you Gnomon I just needed to know that things wouldn't be changing too much - and I couldn't imagine Peer Review without you, or the others I've seen *owning up* to being Curators.
The eds certainly picked the cream
I've done a fair bit of scanning entries myself, and reporting errors. I have enjoyed the feedback I have got from the eds and felt appreciated.
Z - you misread my post. I wasn't complaining that PR is quiet.
I *do* help out in PR - I spend more time there than anywhere else on site - as can be checked if you go through my message centre. Oh tell a lie, I try to go through the researcher's birthday page every morning.
And my own entries, if I didn't have my writing skills and the outlet to let them flow, I'd be going quite insane with impending grief right now.

BH - any new project is going to draw maximum attention from it's volenteers during the inital stages - so yes, the fact that PR hasn't got noticably quiter during the previous two weeks in heartening.

"As I understand the entries will then 'change without notice', so how about the original author? Will they be informed their work has been updated ? "

Exactly the same as at the moment, TiT. The eds have always corrected misprints and added links without informing the authors.

Traveller in Time denying always
"Most of the time there is some sort of conversation onsite however.
With the selected 'Cure Ators' this will be not a problem, but sometimes even correcting misspellings can alter the content. "

The Curators have agreed to post details of any changes made, although we haven't fully agreed yet on where these details should be posted.

Yes, that was one of the options. The consensus was that any changes would be documented on-site, so there won't be any secrecy.
And even if we're only talking about small corrections and links, these are of course open to debate - otherwise it wouldn't make sense to document them, would it?
