I am still trying to get used to the Johan Gooschad bit. Still thinking of how to be johan.

Not knowing much about Johan - any of them - I'd say go and watch Eric the Viking a few times. That should give you a good laugh, if not any real clue about your character.

You just have to keep thinking: "What would Goodschad do (or say) in this situation" . Before long, you'll be at work and have to think: "What would Marv do in this situation".

Light furs would be good, perhaps with lots of vent holes.

*Laughs suddenly as a picture of Rachuel (how DO you spell that?) Welch pops into his head - you know, the one where she played someone in prehistoric times, wearing a fur bikini-type thing.*

I think we'll give her a bit more than that. Unless its what she really wants... Lil?

Don't worry, Marv, you'll do fine. In first year University level acting courses they make you figgure out your character's motivations and goals for yourself. You've got them listed for you by GL. Just keep them in mind, and act accordingly.

what?! i'm going to have to be a stereotypical drama student and go around asking, "what's my motivation???"

That or you will be the atypical theatre student and go around lecturing on your motivation.

Well I am still trying to fit into the role in my mind. Can't wait to start tho. I might even have connectivity on Sunday.

Stanislavski is considered the "father" of most modern acting styles. His book, An Actor Prepares, is one of the staples of the Acting I class. I would suggest picking up his other two books, also. (Not that I can remember their names right now, of course.) They focus on different aspects of the theatre experience. I think that Irv wrote an article involving Stanislaski - or was it someone else? - a while back. Should be around here somewhere.

I'm sure that you'll work out Johan, Marv. Inspiration often strikes from the oddest places.

I'm ready to start too. This is going to be sooo much fun, I can hardly wait...
