h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*Kyra eventually goes to sleep on the couch and incorporates what she subconsciously hears into her dream*

*Today Tavaron, Paul and Tarak went to the city with the tardis. Tavaron thought it's a good idea to get Paul away from the Androcles a bit - and obviously it really was.
They do some sightseeing and have lunch in a restaurant while watching the people outside in the street.*

*In the evening Tavaron, Paul and Tarak return to the Androcles. Tavaron lands the tardis where it was and then they walk out into the corridor to go to the park.*

* Eli has spent most of his day exploring parts of the Androcles he hasn't seen yet. He's now in the park, having a rest on one of the benches. When he sees Tavaron, Paul and Tarak enter, he waves and gets up. *

Hello, all. How was your day? Did you like the city?

*Tavaron and Paul stop and wait for Eli. Paul nods*

It was interesting. Much changed. How are you? What did you do all day?

* Eli gives Tarak a pet while he answers. *

I've been exploring the ship again. There's a lot of it...

* He smiles at Tavaron and Paul. *

Changed, eh? For the better, I hope?

*Paul smiles and nods*

Oh yes. Although there were fewer people than on the Mariposa. But especially the apartments are much bigger than starfleet quarters.

*Paul shrugs*

Well, it got more modern and there are some new skyscrapers and so. I can't say whether that's better.

* Eli smiles and nods. *

Well, now that we've got the Annie Laurie out of the tardis I guess Kyra and I'll go and take a look there one of these days, too. Anything you can recommend?

*Paul thinks for a moment*

I can give you the addresses of some restaurants and a bar where I once worked. But I can't promise that it's still like it was.

* Eli chuckles. *

Kyra and I don't know how it was anyway, so... Anything else? Interesting landmarks, perhaps?

*Paul nods*

You should maybe try to get on one of the skyscrapers, there's a great view from there. And maybe take a walk in the inner city, there are still smaller, older houses - quite strange to look at, because they stand next to these high buildings.

* Eli nods and smiles. *

Sopunds interesting. How old are those small houses?

*Paul shrugs*

Over a hundred years or so, I think. But I can't remember, sorry.

* Eli smiles at Paul. *

No problem. What about your other friends here? have you visited them already?

*Paul smiles*

We met one of them today, but I haven't seen more yet, no.

*Tavaron yawns*

I think we should go, sorry.

*she sleepily leans against Paul*

* Eli nods and smiles at Paul and Tavaron. *

Then don't let me keep you. We can always talk later. Sleep well.

*Tavaron and Paul wish Eli good night and then go to sleep.*

*Kyra, Eli and Frankie have left the Androcles and Paul and Tavaron alone for a while. The Annie Laurie sets down gently in the middle of a huge city. Kyra grins as she looks out at the bright lights and bustle*

*After the shuttle is secured, Eli and Kyra head out to the street. It's starting to get dark, but there is no sign that the pedestrian traffic is slackening*

*The street they are on is surrounded by buildings so tall they almost block out the sky. The first dozen or so floors facing the street are bright with neon and consumables. Kyra cranes her neck, trying to see everything at once*

*She's energised by the sheer bustle. She slips in and out of the crowds, fighting the impulse to help herself to the wallets and jewellery so invitingly vulnerable*

*She returns to Eli, grinning*

Hey.

* Eli returns Kyra's grin. *

Happy to be in a big city again, eh?

*Kyra nods, still grinning*

Yeah, I love it.

*She's almost literally bouncing, and Frankie picks up on her excitement*
