*Nods* AAAaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
The ship's rather quiet atm ... a lot of the crew away on Christmas shore-leave, I suspect. As soon as we've recovered from the inevitable New Year's party, we should be considering where to head for next . Our current position (thanks to a slight navigational error on my part) is: ever so slightly aground just off Amalfi. A spring tide on Jan. 2nd should float us off nicely.

*startled look*
You mean we're going to set sail? I thought this was one of those touristy ships that never leaves port... just a photo opportunity.
*calming down slightly*
Spring tide you say? That's an improvement over the blustery winds and snow I've been wading through today. AAAAaaaaaarrrrrr!!! This may provide me with a means of escape. *rubs hands together in anticipation*
So, ye be an Aussie ? I'm tipped off by the spring tides, (and the fact that I looked at your page). I be a Yankee Clipper. AAAaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrggggHHH. *cough* Oops, got carried away, there.

Probably better to leave out the optional piratical "aaaaaarrr" s. ...Wouldn't want you to choke on your first day here! Oh, it's not a tourist ship (though there are plenty of parties). We scour the seas in search of wealth, infamy and free drinks. Cap'n Pierce suggests a destination, I work out the course ...and then we always seem to end up somewhere else ...not sure why ...never did get the hang of this navigation lark ...

Hey kes... do you suppose that when we leave the italian coastline, we might just go up the road a bit to the island of Elba...?
I know this great pizza place in Portoferraio...

If Avenging Washcloth ever gets homesick
for Ohio, we could always sail up the
St. Lawrence Seaway to Lake Erie,
and dock in Cleveland.
Tell me, do the rivers in Cleveland still
catch fire?

* wonders why Alec needs a good Pizza place since he built such a wonderful Pizza oven for the bar *
Hi AWC, hope you are setteling in OK. Need another drink?
I think its time we got organised for New Years Eve in here, what sort of party would people like?
I think we shall have to have a new cocktail ...

*giggling at the ship (fleet) names*
I'm beginning to feel right at home here, Light! Please, a round of drinks for everyone!! Would anyone care for a "Burning River Ale", made at the port of Cleveland? It's powerful strong stuff. We keep the Cuyahoga River aflame with it. It'll burn you a new windpipe, it will.
... and thanks for asking, Paul... that's a point of pride in Ohio.
*hackneyed pirate dialect ommitted, thankfully*

It really happened back in the bad-old-days of industrial waste infested waters. The Cuyahoga River in Cleveland was on fire with pollution. Yep, it's no lie. These days, we just like to remember it, so it never happens again. The waters are protected now and wildlife is coming back. Yay!!!

A McLurher base you think - well we could do although I was hoping to 'acquire' lots of that for Burns Night ...
