Mort,
i missed this 1
the italics????? i keep hearing them being referred to but i dont know who/where they are
im not on about personality clashes, some of the aces have acted innapropriately, im not here to make friends, but it would seem to rubbish my points which i feel are valid, some of the comments suggest i personally have a grudge, in some of the examples i gave they had nothing to do with me

the italics are the editors of h2g2, they are nicknamed that because their names appear in italics in posts or on the who's online list.
Yes, i wanted to make it clear that the comment from me about personality clashes was aimed at everyone, not at you. As you say if it resorts to bickering amongst anyone contributing to this discussion then it does devalue your original points that you have made because people cannot respond/support or answer what you have said.

Mort,
=====
thankyou at last somebody with a serious comment to make and not taking the 'mick' to rubbish me
im not asking for back up/support etc i can speak for myself but lets make it clear what i have said is true and the issues raised should be dealt with instead on just pointing out that im a troublemaker..i have never claimed to be anything i am not, and i always hold my hand up to anything i have done but in this case i am saying other people on this site should also be held accountable ESPECIALLY (oops not shouting) if they are abusing their position
time to go all, be back later to view/respond to comments

See? Italics! Magic, aren't they?
But seriously, if you do have any issues you need to work through with them, I'm sure they'd be more than happy.

i think as the h2g2 editors say its maybe best if you send an email with the issues your talking about, the point you make about certain people "not being honest" i feel is unfair i dont know if you include me in that comment if not im sorry, finally i can assure you im not interested if a person is from another site or not as the case maybe as an <./>ACE</.> i try my best to help newbies/researchers as much as possible no matter if they were on LD or not

Whilst its good to know there's an email address to contact if you have complaints about certain procedures(that works for digiboxes too) on h2g2, I can't see why this issue shouldn't be discussed onsite.
From what I've noticed recently *some* <./>ACE</.>'s have decided that they are h2g2's own little police force. Now I've read the <./>ACEs-codeofconduct</.> and can't see where this is one of their duties. I know since being on reactive moderation and while the Iraq procedures were about they were asked to keep a look out for transgressions. Has this now become official policy?
I'd also like to add that most <./>ACEs</.> do a good job and would just like to be clear on what else ACE's do other than what it states on the ACE forum.

kow,
Unless I've missed an email , neither the ACEs nor any other volunteer group have become h2g2's "own little police force". Their role is, as it always has been, to welcome new users to the site, and to help them to learn the ropes. If any ACEs are additionally commendably making an effort to uphold the House Rules of the site - which exist to ensure that h2g2 is a friendly place, not to cause conflict - this isn't because they were "ordered" to do so.

This was in fact part of the Peer Moderation Pilot we had sometime ago (we're now fully peer moderated ). One aim was to check that it was _every_body who used the moderation system, not just the volunteers. The only time the italics have really prompted yiksing has been in some cases of spamming. At all other times it's at the discretion of the researcher. The key rule to yiksing as a volunteer is to really only do it when you're finding it offensive. Yiksing 'by the book' can be destructive in some cases...

h2g2 support,
ill consider it, i mean i have a lot to think about..some of the aces in this thread have mocked my comments, these being the same aces you say you are very happy for their contributions, is there much point when you already have a view?

starfleet,
i deliberately ignored the other comments you made and not just because you repeat everything other people have said!
i think if i want to be taken seriously in this thread its best i avoid you, but then knowing you of old aswell perhaps thats why you keep popping up?!
Key: Complain about this post
