I'll pass your comments about parcel force onto my dad Mr I - he used to be their chief financial accounat until recently [retired ] - so maybe he can put a good word in for you!

Well we have CD-drives, but no access to them. It's been restricted on our access levels!
Clever buggers here as well!

Wouldn't I?
You should hear him plan to downfall of Ann Robinson - you could charitably say that niether seem eye to eye on the business of parcel delivery.
I'm gald he's out actually - he was being worked really hard, he's recovering after nearly 20 years of employment and then going back out to find some more. It'll be quite a sight tofday father and son walking into the job centre!!
You'll often hear jingoistic sorts going on about how Britain has the best medical system and postal service. To which my gracious responce, knowing the moderators are watching is "Spherical Objects!! "
What saddest about how Parcelforce has gone downhill (although that said for every I dunno 2 parcels that get delivered with flaws the other eight get delivered just fine and when you are talking about millions and millions of parcels sent the disgruntled customers are a minortity. No less significant for all that but make no mistake a minority nonetheless.)
in my oppinion is not like it's anyone's fault, except perhaps senior, top-level managers the company's on the ropes really. Just a legacy of years of under investment and a out-dated contract to state run organisations.
(and taking on all the unprofitable routes - like delivering to the outer hebridies or wherever but having to compete with the other firms on the buisness routs and cities.
so you know if you *really* wanted to I could go and put in an official complaint for you Mr I if you want, just give me your name, home address and times when you are in!

Commander Keen episodes 1-6, Moria, ADVENT, and a couple of others. All Pre-1993, but all good fun nonetheless...

Our postman doesn't knock twice - I'm lucky if he knocks once! (That was a joke, BTW, honest )
Parcelforce's main problem, like you said, is under-investment and unprofitable routes. They have to delivery to everywhere in the UK (the same as Royal Mail who are also going to be open to competition in the near future!), but the other carriers cn go for the profitable bits and leave us with the expensive stuff.

I scoff at your complaints....
Clive, you should remember that while you were here in the US, our mail/post seldom arrived before 3pm.... We've gone through months when it didn't arrive untill 5:30 or 6 pm.
All that's changed the last couple of weeks - most of the time it arrives by late morning - however there is a new twist to the story -
Now the mailman only seems to deliver to every other house, as we keep finding stacks of mail for our next door neighbor in our mailbox! I finally put a post-it-note (ironically enough) on the last piece that wasn't ours, asking him to kindly check the name and the house number on the mail before stuffing it in our mailbox.

You should have tried a message like "Please deliver to the correct address as a smack in the mouth oftern offends!"
