Breaking with tradition and going back on topic... Anyone heard anything about the film?

Oberon2001 (Scout) Posted Aug 12, 2004
Currently filming is progressing apace at Borehamwood Studios in Hertfordshire. Official site -> http://hitchhikers.movies.go.com/main.html
There's even a teaser trailer out, though you won't find it on the official site (google it and you shall find )

There was a thread about the teaser trailer (but I can't be bothered looking for the link ) and the link to it, but the trailer isn't up to much to be honest

The trailer isn't up to much fords cos it's just a teaser (doesn't have any actual footage from the movie, but works you up for the big feature).
I love it by the way. Think the 42 reference is brilliant!

I know Oberon, but it still wasn't very impressive. But I'll grudgingly give them the sneaky 42 reference though

yes it was rather disappointing for 8.8 mbts worth, especially the Hollywood style characters

Check out the photo gallery - there's a shot from the set, and it looks an awful lot like the interior of a Vogon ship. (Squalid, mussed, shades of vomit)

if one wants to go down this road cast Tony Robbins (Baldrik from Blackadder) as Arthur, Michael Palin as Ford and Danny John Jules (Cat from Red Dwarf) as Zaphod. I agree totally with not having jim Carrey anywhere near this movie as he is a one trick pony.

With apologies for the pedantry, but Baldrick was played by Tony Robinson. Please feel free to tut and roll your eyes at me. It probably deserves spitting too, but the rules don't allow it.
I'm quite looking forward to this film now. Every other book I've seen the film of, the film has ruined the whole thing for me, but the beauty of Hitchhikers is that it does work in every format. Just so long as they haven't changed too much. I actually fumed when Bilbo Baggins mentioned his hundred and eleventh birthday in the Fellowship... Changes not in the spirit of things will be disallowed.

I'm really looking forward to it too. Still a bit unsure about this Mos Def bloke but he seems to get good reviews
