Mental note, send SMS to friends to make them run home and laugh at them when they realize that you did it to see if they would.

I once told people in a chat room on Yahoo that you could get a really cool Windows easter egg by pressing Alt and F4. And half the chat room promptly disappeared!

According to MJ Simpson, Sam Rockwell ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005377/ ) has been cast as Zaphod.
Quoting from Simo's site:
"Sam Rockwell cast as Zaphod
Sites across the web are carrying a story that Sam Rockwell has been cast as Zaphod in the movie. The news originated in this Hollywood Reporter story although no source is cited; however my contacts on the production confirm that the story is accurate. (Although, strictly speaking Rockwell can’t be considered 100% confirmed until his name appears here.) The actor’s previous credits include Galaxy Quest, The Green Mile, Charlie’s Angels and the sublimely brilliant Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in which he played a dangerously unreliable borderline psychotic, nationally famous for being weirdly eccentric and over the top, secretly vested with an unhealthy amount of responsibility. Sounds familiar."
The Hollywood Reporter story is http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/film/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=2084465
And the place he has to be mentioned to be classed as 100% official is http://www.douglasadams.com/movie/ and he now is listed there.
(oh and on that last link, the Frequently Questioned Answers link is good)

First thought when looking at piccies of Sam was that he looks a bit Jim Carreyish....
Like the DNA quote :'When it comes down to it, my principle is this - Arthur should be British. The rest of the cast should be decided purely on merit and not on nationality.' -- DNA
Good link!

Hot news about casting.
John Malkovich has just been cast as Humma Kavula - a cult leader who is a new character created by Douglas for the movie.
I have to say, this particular news has left me somewhat speechless - and it demonstrates the strength of the production that it can attract an actor of Malkovich's standing.
Hugely exciting, I think.

Well, John Malkovich just rocks. Although I have to say the main reason I like him is because of the movie 'Being John Malkovich.'
Humma Kavala, huh? Douglas Adams always tried to make every incarnation of the Guide unique; I'm glad to hear that the movie will be as well.
