I have been known to murder a piano or a guitar from time to time, and I can tell the difference between the two ends of a trombone, do I qualify for membership?

thankyou. I had a look around the beginning of this conv and found out I have to be a little bit more detailed, so here goes:
Piano: 2years of lessons: has now forgotten most of it, can only remember how to play "pink panther" and the red dwarf theme tune (and improvise some blues, but who cant)
Keyboards: I got a few years on these, and I can rememebr most of yer chords for em, but I'm not an expert
Trombone: I got a year of trombone lessons, but didnt keep em up. I can almost play one.
Guitar: been playing for a month, I odnt get lessons, but my dad plays and I learn some chords off him. Have found it a wonderfuly easy instru, ment to play, and can strum chords conviincingly whilst singing badly
Theory: I probably know more theory than practical, as I have up to Grade4 (with distinction in each and every one)
Types of music I like: Well, every sort really, I especialy like 60's music and some 70's stuff, but I'm a jazz fan (although i dont know much about it) and have a vauge interest in Clasical music.
I dont know what that adds up to, I'm supposedly quite talented, but really I'm too lazy to practice, which is apparently important. It'd be pretty froody to be a member of the guild, because I like music, and I like talking about it, but there are very few of my friends in rl who I do talk about music to. All my rl friends are obsessed with bands like slipnot etc, save one who's obsessed with clasical music.

I play the piano- g5....nearly 6?- and cello- nearly g4?- and have just taken the g5 theory exam at which i completely and utterly suck ass.
To listen to, I love rock and metal bands- particularly system of a down and incubus- but to play and to listen to classically I like modern composers like prokofiev and rachmaninov. I also love the gorecki 3rd symphony.
I don't want anything in particular from this group, just the contact with other people who love music as much as me.
Please let me join!

Hey,my name is Burton G E Richardson and I've played music proffessionaly all my adult life.Nightclubs are where I spent most of my life, not now though, the studio, privately owned 24 track digital with 64 tracks midi ,is where I work lately.I don't mind not seeing the drunken public with there under-developed sense of musicality.I am Canadian born in Vancouver,B.C.,the California of Canada,as the easterners like to tease us, because we are "flakes" as they love to begrudge us for being happier, healthier, spiritual. When I visit Toronto, which is Canada's NEW YORK except not anyway near as dynamic or creative, people I meet say"your not from here are you?Because you are too happy&friendly&nice!!"Thank you,I'm so glad I'm not from Toronto!!Anyway,I've travelled alot of places in the world and love many different cultures,I try to sucessfully emerse, spelling? myself into local customs and history,dialects,etc...In Jamica, they call me whitevoodooman....wasislbe, out o'space

Hi Burton, welcome to the Guild, and welcome to H2G2
You might want to write something on your personal space, so that you can be 'formally' welcomed to H2G2 by one of our 'Aces'. You'll also be able to add the Guild badge to your space - you'll find it at A434648, together with some instructions.
I hope you enjoy your time here

Hello. I managed to avoid joining the real Musicians Union (scary oppressive people). Is this virtual one nicer? Assuming the answer is yes, here are the requested stats:
1. I can play piano, organ (+ pedals), clarinet, violin, flute, recorders, ocarinas, guitar with varying degrees of proficiency. I used to be in some real orchestras. I can sing (SATB) and used to be in some real choirs.
2. probably Beethoven, but lots of classical composers and some rock/pop.
3. can someone please explain the point of a virtual symphony orchestra and choir on a site that doesn't even permit MIDI files - or is a takeover planned when there are enough of us?!
4. I may not be around enough for regular site maintenance. However, in one of my former lives I was a software engineer. I can do HTML and apparently GuideML too since my personal space worked. So if you have some specific problems you could try asking me. I'll try to help even if you don't want me as a member because I'm not only mostly harmless but quite nice really...
