*flutter of wings*

Hi folks, nice to see so many of you smiley - smiley

Engländer and Pan - those were beautiful stories, I enjoyed reading the backlog! I wonder, Pan, do you know another tales? I heard that Indians have a lot of them.

Kes, so I was right about your language knowledge. Ha! Then when can we start with Italian?! smiley - winkeye

As for the Name day, Dragonfly: methinks this traditon comes from the catholic religion (not so sure, cause I'm within the 1 % in Poland, which is NOT catholic smiley - tongueout ). As you know, there are many saints in the catholic religion, so comes, that every (well mostly) name has his special celebrity day after a saint. Or many different days during the whole year, it depends of how well known and popular a name is. For example: my Name day is at 25th of November and it's the St.Catherine's of Alexandria day. Normally it's so: as there are quite many 'Catherine-days', we are making it this way: you have your Name day at the first Catherine's day after your birthday. So, as my birthday is in January I should have had my Name day at 13th of February - the first Catherine's day after. But my Mom made a mistake and looked BACK, not forward and that's why I celebrate at 25th of November. smiley - smiley

*gag...wonders how many times in her life she will be subjected to that, er, joke* "If you'll all excuse me...I think I'd best go to my cottage and take something for an upset tummy!!! YUK!" smiley - sadface
"I'll see all you brave souls on the morrow." *puts on parka that she was going to donate for the North Pole trip and fights against the wind to exit the Pub...snow swirls in as Pan leaves out...you can barely hear her scream above the wind...* "Bloodly Hell...it's c-c-cold out here!!!"

Mi va bene, grazie.
(I'm doing OK, thanks)

I'll trade you a bit of Italian for a few useful words in Polish. Deal?

Hello Cloviscat! Its nice to see you again. You too, Arutha. Talking about cold and wet reminds me of the movie 'The Perfect Storm'. Have you all seen it? I don't want to give anything away in case you haven't.

Ehem... what do you mean by joke, Pan? My asking about Indian tales? I was really interessted, that's all. Sorry, if you don't like this ;-(
Buon giorno, Kes. Come'sta?
(Dzien dobry, Kes. Jak sie czujesz?)

Mi va bene, grazie.
(Dobrze, dziekuje)

Okay, Kes, it's a deal smiley - smiley

Mari-Rae, how are you? Sorry to admit, I don't know this movie. Can you tell us more?

(Doesn't know anything about the aforementioned movie, and if she had "Seen" it with her sweetie, she wouldn't have paid any attention to it... smiley - tongueout)

Hermmm... tell us about the movie....

(I think Pan was talking about the joke, not Kasia's interest in Indian stories, which I share...)....

Does anyone smell vanilla!?? smiley - smiley

~sniffs~

No, I don't smell any vanilla.

The Perfect Storm is based on a true story about fishermen who get caught in the middle of three major storm fronts out at sea in their boat. The last scene at sea is haunting.

Kes? You want to say something?

Kasia, I think your English is wonderful! If I could speak several languages, I'm sure that I could only hope to do as well as you. smiley - smiley

Mari-Rae, Erik wanted to go see The Perfect Storm, but we didn't get a chance. Do you recommend it then?

Aha, Beatles-mania again. I like this, Dragonfly. But I thought, Ringo is your fav?

Okay, folks, the next few days I'll be offline, cause I'm making a trip of duty *sigh, I don't like this at all...*

So, help yourself around here, okay?

Ah, yes, because today (7th of Nov) is Lil's Birthday and tommorow (8th of Nov) it's Tweetie's B-day, I'm putting two special champagne bottles behind the bar. Two layer-cakes are in the fridge. Be so kind: if any of the two ladies come around, greet them with this.
Thanks in advance for your help smiley - smiley

Oh, and another fancy-cake in the fridge is for this one of you, who reach the 999 and 1000 post smiley - winkeye

Have fun and see you - *huges*

*Engländer puts another log onto the fire.*

Oh, my best and beloved, how much would I like to tell you a cold and wet tale, bat, alas, my memory is flustered with the thoughts of my day. To much bad talk, to much pretence have crossed my dreams, and the chap I have to look after did not seem to see the ernestness of his situation. But that, o beloved, is another story of socialworker life, that I wont tell here.

*Engländer sighs at his thoughts and gets himself a new glass of Feuerzangenbowle."
