Yes, I have, my friends and beloved, and I had a record with a number of the stories being read. And my favorite one is "The cat that walked by himself." The best bit is when the cat says "Neni" (or something like that "I am the cat that walks by himself and all the ways are alike to me." I just LOVE that...

*E thinking:I should put them onto tape, so I can listen to them while I drive the streets of the black forest, whilst on my job.*

The cat! Yikes!
*Kes realises that for some silly reason he stopped stroking the cat a little while ago, and that the cat had jumped off his lap and strolled off.*
I'm sure she's around here somewhere. *Looks in various cat-like places of semi-concealment*. There she is! Having a drink of water from that saucer. I wonder if she'd prefer milk?

I love Kipling too, and The Cat Who Walks by Himself is a long-time favorite. Kes, Dragonfly, does your cat have a name? I could tell you lots of cat stories as thirteen cats live with me. Only two are in the house, the rest stay in the barn. I'm not that nuts! hehe!!

Hi Phillipa smiley - smiley

That's a goodly number of cats ... and I always thought that the only viable quantities were 0, 1 or 2 cats .. any other quantity and you have the potential for a "gang" of them ... but I suppose they're clever enough to work out their own social structure ..

Yes, I'm sure the cat has a name .... it used to be called Dragonfly, but that was in the party. Here and now, it has another name ... and I'm sure she'll tell me what it is ... when she's ready ... smiley - smiley

Do you know the Indian story about the cats?
*Invites all to come into the story circle ...*

Long ago, the cats used to rule the world ... something which they did extremely well. Though all the other species were jealous, the cats found it to be very hard work. One day, the mankeys asked if they could take over, and the cats agreed ... on the one condition that the monkeys and their descendants would always look after the cats. The monkeys duly took over, in time evolving into humans .... and the cats have never stopped laughing since ....

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence

*steps briskly into the pub, holding two handfuls of red, white and blue inflatable squids*

An historic day ladies and gentlemen, not least because I managed to survive into a 52nd year. I'll be up late tonight listening to the non-commercial radio.

Thanks everyone for the sweet messages you left on my home page. One of the reasons I am able to plan on moving to the middle of nowhere in New Mexico is that I have so many wonderful friends online. *starts to get teary*

Did somebody say cake?

Ah cake! Always some behind the bar in case of emergency celebrations!
*Gets cake, decides not to get candles, gets champagne and glasses*
Many Happy Returns, Asteroid Lil. Have some champagne.
*Looks at the inflatable squids*
So have all the red, white & blue inflatable elephants and donkeys been used up?

No, they're at home waiting to find out whether they've been elected. smiley - winkeye

Affi gave me inflatable squids for my birthday. I refilled the ink parts of the squids for the colors.

Please skip the candles.

Skylion, Muse of Hockey and Comic Books and Keeper of the Corner of the Laughing Dog.

Hello to everyone. funny the CP connect to the Corner via the shadows underneath the jukebox--leads into a real creepy dark corner in the outhouse. Asteroid Lil, you I have not met yet. But Happy Birthday. Love the squids. Can I get a pale ale from the bar. I seem to be out in my basement. Some stange metaphysics going on. If my team gets scored on (LA up by 1, doggies got no bone) my tap goes dry. That and the orange circus peanuts break out in the Marimba. Fun stuff.

Kerouac! How? Yeah, a little slangy, a little to insidish-to-myself. And I mention the Marimba. But Kerouac?
Cold on the road today trying to meet destiny like a buzzsaw.

Happy birthday Lil! *Gives Lil a virtual birthday hug* smiley - bigeyes

Kes, I love that tale (or tail) about the cats that you told a few postings ago! (Absolutely fabulous dahling!) smiley - winkeye

My family shares our home with five cats and three dogs who have all worked out their hierarchy, the cats besting the dogs on all counts! LOL! The only downside is that I have to empty my vacuum cleaner every third day! smiley - winkeye At the moment, with all this rain we're having here in the UK, there are muddy/wet paw prints everywhere!!!

*Wanders across to the bar and pours herself another coffee*

I really should have this stuff intravenously, you know... smiley - tongueout

It's raining cats and dogs and raining on the cats and dogs too! smiley - winkeye

The poor dogs haven't been for a proper walk in days now due to the constant rain. smiley - sadface It's a good job we have quarry tiles on the utility room floor, where our back door is located, and on the kitchen floor! smiley - smiley

*Pours herself yet another cup of coffee and wonders whether she should invest in a set of water wings*
