I think the Applegarth would be a good place for Emily's shop, perhaps number 28? Of course I'm an inhabitant, rather than the owner, so perhaps you could link from the "name of building column" instead.

I think no. 28 is taken. I'll have to check. I've fallen behind a bit in my estate management duties.

Well, I'm not that bothered where it is, but I always imagined Emily's shop as being just off the High Street and no 28 looked about right.

Thank you, Kumabear. Don't forget that as a single male you have to hold down a job, or provide a service in order to live in the Village. Please apply at the Job Centre.

Hello. I do have the post of Fire Chief, and now I'm back to apply for house no 14-except not for a house but for the fire station. And can you build on topof the fire-station several houses, in a big tower on top of each over, for all the (yet-to-apply)firemen/firewomen. I'd like the top house of the firestation and I'll call my house Fiery View. A central position is best for a fire-station.

I'll do my best.
There is a bunch of firepersons somewhere on h2g2 -- it's on the same page as the police.

police/fire dept's are at http://h2g2.com/U129235 Watch out. They fight dirty. I seem to remember them focusing their attentions on a certain church a couple of months back.

I can't believe I almost missed this! If number 18 is still available I'm there! I will call it Casa del Endriago De Oro and hold gourmet Mexican food cooking classes. I'll invite everyone to sample the food and perhaps to join the newly-formed, and terribly polite Vavoom Tequila Appreciation Society
Please have one of your estate agents contact me to confirm that this is still available

Sorry, Number 18 is taken. I'm afraid I've fallen rather behind on my duties. I'll just update the table.

Ok. Some progress made. I couldn't remember the names people had given their cottages. Perhaps you could all repost below? I wish Purple had called No. 18 Dim View instead of Shady View.
The larger properties still available, as far as I know, are No.s 25 and 26. And there is a compact property available in School Lane (No.7).
Greeb's monstrosity, sorry, monastry... slip of the keys... is under construction by the rocks to the East of the map where there are shortly to be some geological upheavals.
There is a building plot up for sale but I haven't decided where yet. Grab it while you can. Like gold dust they are.
I negotiated with the late and lamented MK and the big house IS the very same establishment as the popular Foxy Manor. This will be convenient to those many ladies who frequent the Manor and the Crossed Purposes since they are now within walking distance. I will talk with Joe about the management of the Manor following the demise of MK.
I suggest that No.14 doubles as Fire station and Police Station because we're running out of buildings. Mind you, one or two residents haven't been getting out much recently - shouldn't someone go and check on them?
I will be building a hamlet called St. Valentine's on the coast to the South (St. Valentine's Bay). It will have a church of... um... St. Valentine and may well become popular for weddings and retaking of vows etc. There's a lot of lurve around at the moment. I think it must be something in the water.
That's all for now.
Phew!

I knew I'd forget something. I'll offer Bagpuss a place in the window of Graphic Ants. It's Amy's Shop rather than Emily's but times change... things move on...

OH NO!! Are ALLthe homes taken? Will I be forced out into the Burbs where I will have to live in a vinyl-sided condo/townhouse next to yuppie neighbours with snotty teenaged kids who wear rings through their eyebrows and listen to endless hours of N'Sync and Britney Spears???!!! Please tell me there's SOMETHING left in the village!!!

There's 25, 26 and No 7. And a building plot in a position of your choice (subject to planning permission).

How about number 26? I really need a spot with some space around it because sometimes, once in a while, OCCASIONALLY (usually on a Tuesday afternoon) the Vavoom Tequila Appreciation Society members get a teeny weeny bit, shall we say...overenthusiastic?
For the record, I would like to say that the police and eye-witness reports about the last meeting were blown WAY out of proportion! But I'm sure the truth will all come out in court...

Fortunately the lanes around there wind quite a lot. And the number 42 bus leaves from the high street and goes into The Town (see http://www.h2g2.com/A421435).
