I love this!!

The only thing that strikes me is that big house at the top. Do we want somebody living there lording it over all of us? Let's make the big house a country club and the surrounding fields into a golf course. There can be dances, a pool, tennis, etc. at a country club.

I like how all the buildings are clustered together. Older women would not like to have to hike across town to get to the grocery store.

What do you all think?

The big house has undoubtedly become a country hotel of the best kind with golf course, tennis courts and health spa. Would you like me to draw some bunkers?

What about naming some of the roads and lanes. I'm sure the Post Office would be grateful. smiley - smiley

Shady Lane, Main Street, River's Run, Valley, Applegarth, Sunset. (I'd better go look at the map and see how many we need smiley - winkeye)

Wow! Amy! This just keeps getting better and better! Ooops, I was so distracted by the beautifully conceived graph that I forgot to count the streets!

Coely and Gwennie, please help with naming the various places in our Village: the golf course, the village green, and better street names than what I came up with. Thanks!

I'm going to do a second draft on Saturday but there's no hurry - we can keep working on this until it's perfect.

May I suggest No. 2 for the Church and 22 for the Village Pub in classic " God and the devil at opposite ends of the village" fashion.

GOD might need to be consulted about naming the Church.

Pub names: here's a few that spring to mind.

The Moxon Arms, The Hitchhiker's Rest, The Crossed Purposes, The Rat and Parrot, The Rat and Fiddle, The Ant and Ferret, The Olde Bat ...

Where do you want the Post Office and Village Store to be?

I'm bound to think of some more later!

I like Crossed Purposes! Locations are interesting. I didn't know your villages were laid out like that. Hmm, church. It should be Episcopal, so we can have a vicar. How about St. George's so we can have a dragon statue? Put the tea shop and the post office across the street from each other so we can sit in the window and gossip about the people going in and out of the P.O.!!

All excellent ideas. Sorry for not popping by earlier, but there's a young man moving his tools, and I got a bit distracted. smiley - winkeye

I've started a Job Centre thread for all the young men who are good with their tools to apply for work.
However, I have appointed my own personal handiman, who will be kept very busy indeed. smiley - winkeye

Coely, you are either up very late or very early! Where is the said Job Centre found? Can such workers take cottages in the Village?

Amy, may I suggest one thing? As I would like to be owner of building 20, I just realize, that this area (buildings 21 and 20) do not have a street or something like this, so you must go through estates 22 or 16 to reach them. Can you do something about this?

Hi Kasia, and welcome! I just popped over to your page, and found that you love jazz and angels. Perhaps heavenly music is jazz and not harps, do you think?

Amy is a wizard and I'm sure you will be able to walk to #20 without cutting across the neighbor's lawns! Come over to Someday Cottage for a visit when you get the time.

I had spotted that problem and it will be solved in today's draft.
