Kes

*Kes decides a bit of peace and quiet sounds good. A bit of Peaceful and quiet sounds even better. He stands next to her, gives her a hug and a smile, and observes the metal detecting team at work ...*

* Weakness overcomes her...

*seeing that everyone has decided to imitate her...

*she comes up with:

"Never complain, never explain..."
Nothing to do with our little problem here, but always a good lesson to learn smiley - smiley

Any idea what we're looking for???

I was wondering when someone was going to ask that. In truth, no I haven't, but I do know that GB wouldn't take the risk of smuggling a forbidden device onto the island if it wasn't very important.
Kiddo - Yo! GB talked to you about digging - what did she say?

* Hoping against hope that time will stop overlapping...

* she tells Kes about the radioactive cannister she'd hidden many threads ago... [so nobody would get hurt!]

Oh!
That wasn't quite the sort of treasure I was hoping for.
Tell me two things - think carefully:
One: Describe the metal that the canisters are made of - is it shiny, or dull? How big are they? Did they seem heavy for their size, or not?

Two: How far up the beach did you bury them - above high tide mark, or not?

* Once more risking a simulpost attack, the foolish albeit lovely woman asks Kiddo:

Is Tweetie alright?

Oh, Kes! I'm really sorry about that! I'm having a hard time remembering... 'cause I was still an adorable pink lemur, and I only remember it was heavy... and where I put it???

Don't think it matters that much... 'cause, once, when I went back there, someone had moved it... the sand was all messed up, and there was a sort of depression where it had been...

Hard to remember the time I was a lemur...

* She continues to think very hard, trying to remember...

Kes

*The sound of a large penny dropping - something like KERPLONK, only louder*

You were the pink lemur? All that time I was worried, and looking for you ... and you weren't lost at all - you were right there!.

*He remembers the savage bite on the ankle he received just for mentioning Tweetie's taste in swimwear*
Ha ha ha ha ha.
*Then decides he's never going to explain why he was just laughing, having remembered what happened to him when he mentioned ddgb a couple of days ago!*

Sorry - not funny really. Just relief - yes that's it.

OK we'll start the search from scratch, but do you remember - were they shiny or dull? heavy or not so heavy? It's important.

* doesn't understand why Kes' facial expression had been going from alpha to omega... no matter...

All I can remember is that is was quite heavy for, a lemur, that is..

and I'd say it must have been shiny, but not sure...

But it did have a sign indicating it was radioactive...

Thanks. That's not such good news. The shiny metal suggests that the canisters aren't made of lead - so they may not be shielding the radiation too well. Mind you, it might mean that they're not highly radioactive, but we can't take that risk. Do you know what radioactivity does for your love life, let alone your hair - even in small doses?

It will take both of us to do the search. I'll sweep, you carry the battery, and make a mark in the sand when we detect something. We'll do it as quickly as we can. Let's go. At least we can talk as we sweep. Are you up to this?

* Yes, it might be boring, but it would also be fun...
If only her memory would start working again...

Let's try!!!

I'm a bit sleepy, but maybe we could try it for some moments...

But if it was lead, then...

I just remembered... it was at Peaceful Bay... and it was actually eroded... think the angels took it away, as a precaution...

Maybe it's not what we're looking for...

[Sometimes, PE is almost sure she's not THAT clever... smiley - smiley]

* Another memory flash...

That's it! Right! dull metal... lead, as you suggested...

But Galaxy Babe and Tweetie saved me from radiation poisoning, when they revolved me to a human being...

* Another flash:

Where's Kiddo, have we walked too far away from him"?
