Lady Pennywhistle, *some* of those Dewey numbers are bogus.



892 is some genre of Asian literature, but there would only be one decimal point in it.

H341 would be in the law category, but no Dewey number starts with a letter.

954 is probably Vietnam or some other Asian region.
297 is religion, again probably Asian.

Do you have Asia on your mind?

954.040.924(074) is about Indian history, we only have one book with this code though: "Nehru Memorial Museum and Library". However, 954.040.924(022.2) is: India - History - 1947-1971 - Statesmen; Prime ministers - Individual biographies; Works about - Pictures.

(Librarians rarely agree on much of anything. It's hardly a peaceful profession. )

There was a min-war between the cataloging department and the reference department at Harvard UNiversity libraries many years ago. If a member of one department found himself/herself in the hall with a member of the other department, they would likely shout at each other.
