*pours fresh brewed and for all*
I'm surprised you had the strength to hit the post button at all after that intense a weekend. How was the weekend? Is everyone, including Esparoth, recovered yet?
It's too hot to actually go camping, yet. It's L.S.U. tailgating season at the moment. By October the worst of the mosquitos and poison ivy will be gone, not so much risk of heat stroke either.

*ignores the temptation to comment on the "intense/in tents" pun from the above*
Nice to see this in the new smileys section!
Espharoth was very busy as emergency Firestarter at the weekend (Saturday we got all the rain we DIDN'T get throughout the high summer camping period!!)
Otherwise the weekend went well
The Leaders due for the Back to Basics weekend are praying we don't get too much this coming weekend ....
STILL no smiley, though .... ah, well, can't have everything ....

*leaves out some charcoal nibbles for Esparoth*
We got pretty soaked this weekend too. Monday was really icky. Tuesday was beautiful, much too nice for having to work.
Is it possible to do a Sun Dance?
Is this weekend a survival/minimalist weekend?

Hi, Evangeline!
The weekend is a Survival weekend teaching Leaders various techniques which they will hopefully pass on to their troops at a second weekend (October, I think, same venue.)
BTW, you can see the campsite on:

Yes,I am the Lady Lowena!Get with the programme... Posted Oct 16, 2003
Ooh now I find out. When I have to collect the dear children from after school club and cook them a meal and have them trample all over my newly hooverd carpets and fresh scrubbed kitchen floor! A party I want to come! (LL thinks for a minute and then remembers George Washington and his damn cherry tree)Well maybe not newly hoovered maybe not just freshly scrubbed. More like I'll have to go home and face the chaos I been hiding from all day Sometimes I just hate housework. And sometimes I really hate it.

Hi Lady Lowena,
This party is just getting started. There is plenty of time for you to drop in and party with the rest of us.
I just really hate housework all the time.

What a night!
The was magnificent!
The production was by a touring company, not sure if it counts as advertising but they do a "singalonga" [HINT! HINT!] version of several different productions and can be 'G**gled' on the www (with a 'com' after it .... not that I'm advertising web addresses, oh no, honest Guv ...)
Anyone UK based who gets the chance to get to one of these shows will enjoy them! Tickets for 'THe Wiz' in Liverpool disappeared in a couple of hours. The theatre was heaving and most of the children present had responded to the 'fancy dress' requests - also a fair number of accompanying adults!
I'm having technical difficulties downloading the pictures I have onto the HooToo website, but I'll keep trying!
The evening starts with a 'fancy dress' parade and prizes, and then comes the film - with karaoke subtitles for every song, and of course some of the memorable lines ("I don't think we're in Kansas any more, Toto") also appear on the screen - most of the audience, however, seemed to know the full script by heart anyway, as they joined in whenever they felt moved to do so!Oh, and By The Way: everyone gets "goodybags" with lightwands, poppers, bubbles and other small items which are used during the show
Even though you KNOW when it's coming, the magic of the moment when the film transfers from sepia to full technicolor still has its effect!
Other events (same company) to watch out for: Sound of Music, Abba, Joseph, Grease ........ an excellent evening's entertainment!!

Why is the Camp Site so quiet for such a long time
Is everybody hibernating ??
Does nobody CARE that I stand on the point of being FORCED to choose between THREE possible job offers?
These depend on the results of interviews I am currently attending in SWEDEN
