Cold, wet and dark day here. Meh.

That's about enough excitement in anybodies book SC. I think I phrased my reply wrongly SC. What I was getting at was that with all the effort abroad, our council numpties cant cope with the number of people voting. With all the effort over the decades to give people that right, to deny it for the sake of an hour or so was just plain wrong. I noticed one polling station stayed open longer, officials with some commonsense. Small mindedness closed the rest. It looks like they could only have planned for about 50-60% turnout to save mony. Ho hum.

Anyway, it's almost done now and the country hasn't collapsed yet.

Sunny up here today. Finally dozed off again after the last post. Now lying listening to the munsters playing out in the sun. Magic.

V, you make a very good point about giving a woman a ring -- any ring. Be very careful guys. But Syn and I are much better off not getting married. We may decide to live together at some point, but we're at the age where we'd be much better off financially to stay single, especially since I'm a widow and can get my late husband's pension when I retire. Besides, I enjoy the evenings I still have on my own and suspect he does, too. We both understand that we're in a stable, long-term relationship. Things are pretty darned good the way they are. Still, the ring was a bit more of a committment. A ring always is.

Now wrong with a bit of commitment, imo, doesn't need to involve marriage or even living together, just, well, commitment.

Been quite bright here throughout the morning, I should have done the mowing but ended up watching Wall-E with my son instead. Well, there was nowt else on and he was having 'breakfast' (at 1 in the afternoon - we were up quite late last night and it's Sunday )

By Gum! I do believe that all four of the essays due in tomorrow are within a couple of hundred words of completion and all are in need of bibliographies. All of which can safely wait until the morning. Shows that when I actually put my mind to doing something I can get it done. Since Monday I have written 5500 words approximately.

Is it wrong that I am quite pleased with myself?

Oh well 9am start in the uni library tomorrow for the final push to get everything handed in by 4PM then I am in fact taking Tuesday off.

How horrible is it of me that I'm just not into Mother's Day this year? 10 years now I've not had anyone to call or get anything for for today. I'm faking it for Faith, though. Sorta.
