What colour is russet? Y'know, men sees the world in 16 colours like the old Windows standard setup - aubergine is a vegetable and we have no clue what mauve is
Cold, damp, miserable May
16 is struggling (but actually doing rather well) with an English assay - but greatly hampered by not being allowed to use commas. Really it's something about not having learned how to do it properly - but she suffers!

Hello. I'm late, I see. My apologies.
A little nervous here, auditioning for Fiddler on the Roof in an hour - hoping for some small extra part.
It's hard to rehearse a song when you can't play the piano.

Not being allowed to use commas, Santa? Really, I'd be stuffed.
Very grey here, looks like rain on the way.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted May 8, 2010
*Stomps in looking rather miffed*
I need a really big cup of tea... just been debit-card-fraudededed *again*! They bought an audiobook of all things... though as Ag pointed out on Farcebook; at least they're cultured. Not like the last lot who gambled the ill gotten gains at Sun Bingo amongst others. Maybe if this keeps up I'll eventually end up having my card used to buy ballet tickets!

The person who was due here at 11:00 still hasn't turned up (14:30). If I'd known they were going to be this late, I could have gone to sleep at 10:30 and woken up rested and head-ache-free by now.
They will apparently be here in less than half an hour. If they aren't then I will be a zombie.
I hate this delays-by-a-thousand-cuts carp.

They did, thanks Vip, and very unsatisfactory it was all round.
My neighbour was away and wouldn't give us access to his land, but told me so by note instead of texting me as I asked him to. So I needn't have driven the 400 miles to be here....
And because the drain man was late, I've lost a day's studying through having no brain. I could have either slept in till midday, or slept from 10:00 - 2:00.
I'm frightened because it is lack of sleep that gives me migraines, and I simply cannot afford one at the moment (assignment to complete by Tuesday, job interviews in Scotland on Wednesday and Thursday).
So I'll grab me some kip now, go into town and buy red bull, and buckle down for two and a half days studying.
But it could have been four and a half, if I'd not driven down here.
Ignore me. I'm vile at the moment.

I slept rather poorly too, not clocking many hours before my legs woke me up, pleading to be moved. Then, at about 4:30, as I was lying on my back, Squeaky Joe used my abdomen as a trampoline on his way up to the high window ledge, causing my entire lower body to go into a sort of spasm.
My mistake was in continuing to lie there in the dark, seething with rage over, well, lots of things not under my control. I should have simply turned on the light, grabbed my bed wedge, and done some sudoku. The logic puzzles are extremely soothing things that provide a final result (unlike most of the rest of life) and a sense of accomplishment (ditto).
And that's just what I did after 90 minutes of teeth-grinding tension. Immediately, all the cats jumped back on to the bed; they'd been lurking, waiting for me to get over it.
Z, I sent you another yahoo missive. I've put labels on an MRI image of my thoracic vertebrae and just need for you to say whether I got them right. It will be an illustration for the blog I've decided to launch. I've realized that I might be able to make an original contribution to the wheelchair world. Not to mention the world of syringomyelia.

Z's in the middle of a 40 mile walk right now, Lil. He'll be staggering home by train tomorrow sometime, I should think.
Amazing how much better I feel after just an hour of pseudo-sleep. But I'll be back off to bed in about 10 minutes.

Migraines really do pick the worst times eh. I have four essays due on Monday, and I suppose it's my own fault for not starting them sooner, but I could really have done without the visit from the migraine fairy yesterday evening. I am currently procrastinating instead of getting on with essay number three (S will shout at me when he gets here later) but I have already done one essay today dagnabbit!
European Feudalism = done
Scottish Independance = done (and i still can't spell that word after writing it at least once in every paragraph earlier )
Child development = started
Globalisation = *runs away screaming
Oh well i really should give this at least another hour of proper work.

Yesterday was hellish, Ben. Thanks for asking. I told my coworkers what was happening right when I walked in the door. They gave me time to collect myself before and after the meeting (which I needed because my voice was shot from throwing up earlier). The presentation went well, I think, despite the fact the migraine decided to squeeze itself in the space behind my right eye. I kept gently touching my brow there in a very subtle manner. At least I think it was subtle. No one said, "Why do you keep touching your face?"

How are your feet Z? 40 miles is a trek and a half!
Offers to all those that had a carp day, no sleep, migraines, defrauded cards and late people. In fact have an extra just to make sure.
Cooked in the cockpit today, but the weather was gorgeous. 4000ft over the Moray Firth with cadets who grinned from ear to ear. It made the last year's training and bouncy landings worth it. Today's landing efforts were a vast improvement over last weekend thank goodness.
