*Crawls, gasping, from the depth of the backlog*
Well, that'll teach me to stay away for so long.
In this 'ere bag, are presents for those whose birthdays I missed. Also, flowers and strong drink for those that could do with them, and rounds of applause for those that earnt them.
I am delighted that the Saga of Teh Blak Kitteh has ended so well.
I wish I could have a cat. Landlord says NO PETS. But I miss having cats.
I missed yet another day of work today, due to ing migraine (hey, Santra! Snap!). I sort of wish I had gone in, now, and drooled and staggered about THERE, just to prove I mean it when I say I can't do a thing when Stricken. Not that anyone at work has ever been anything but kind and understanding, but I am completely paranoid about being taken for a malingerer. Especially now that I have a diagnosis for some of my other troubles and it turns out to be practically untreatable, damn and blast it all to heck. I hope very much the Library of Glum is prepared to put up with me forever, because I really can't see me getting a new job somewhere else with this huge dragging burden of Medical History And Sick Leave.

Glad to hear that teh blak kitteh is starting to get settled in it's new home.
Ag, that sucks, like a supermassive black hole sucks. It may even suck so much it blows! I thought that having a condition that was incurable, but treatable sucked (it does if you were wondering). Having something that can't be treated is much worse for the both of you.

My father suffered migraine for many, many years. Dark room instantly if possible, feeling like vomiting and the always present outrageous head. Our uncle who was a pharmacist suggested taking 3 Aspro Clear as soon as the symptoms started. Amazingly, after a couple of decades of disabling pain, this treatment gave him very fast relief and years later he hardly gets them at all.
Chuffed for Teh Blak Kitteh. What a brilliant solution.

Forgot to mention that diet played a big part in instigating migraine in my Dad.
Cheese and dark chocolate acted like blue-touch-paper on a rocket.

'Dude, what happened to your ears?'

Delighted to hear he's eaten.
If I have tenants that leave I will loose two months rent. That's the best part of a grand... So if you just get a cat and then tell the landlord will he want to loose that much money? Of course it's a risk you may have to leave.
Migraines:- triphans and beta blockers do the trick for ben. There are other options too..I'm assuming you've discussed it with you're dr?

Thank goodness I don't get migraines. What I do have though is a cold and I know it will be gone in a few days but right now I don't feel right. Oh well.

Good to know Kitteh has been eating.
Ag, I agree with Phil's assessment of the suckiness of your situation. Know that we are all here to be understanding and offer hugs, even if we can't do any more than that.
Opening night of Pajama Game was a mixed affair. Performance-wise it went well, but we were still plagued with set issues. Serious thought is being put in to how to make it right for tonight - some of the changes felt like an eternity, and meant that the audience's involvement in the show had to be restarted with each scene. We feel awful for the crew (some of us can help with some changes, but I and several other principals are often changing costume at the same time as the set is being changed).

Triptans do a very fair job for me. Unfortunately - or maybe actually fortunately - my migraines are rare enough for a box of 6 of them to expire before I use them up. And they're well expensive not already!
Furthemore, since I can get around a migraine with a couple of strong ordinary pills, given that I spot it coming early enough, I usually don't carry any stocks.
All in all, it's a nuisance - but I'm not as badly affected as many others. , & to those here suffering more than I do!

Thrilled to know Teh Blak Kitteh's doing well.
Just got home after staying over at Z's and have left my mobile in the car - annoying because it's parked a couple of hundred yards away and I am 'xausted after a late night, early morning and 2 hours of driving here. I am looking forward to living in the same place as my husband.
Huge fellow-feeling and sympathy for migraine sufferers. I've also realised that I become very argumentative before a migraine. Not nice for innocent victims to be around.

Wednesday morning update:
I went to bed very late, couldn't sleep, heard a strange noise downstairs, came down. Teh Blak Kitteh was sat on one of the kitchen window sills looking wistfully outside. He jumped back down when I entered the kitchen, I sat on the floor, he came and had strokes and cuddles (offered me his tummy as well ) - his leg seems to have healed quite nicely. I was wide awake, put a dvd in (An American Haunting - good film, dreadful ending) Kitteh jumped onto my sofa and slept on my lap
He's had is medication, Ben.
is still a bit of a mystery to him, 'Hang on, you've got four legs, why don't you walk like me?

That's lovely Mags. I wish I'd thought to sit on the floor. I am SO pleased!
Thanks for the update.

minichessemouse - Ahoy there me barnacle! Posted Mar 17, 2010
Migraines do indeed suck. I've had the current since Sunday, Luckily the Gabapentin I'm on seem to be making them more bearable and I am glad of the improvement. Sympathy to other sufferers.
Realisation of just how close my exams are hit home with a thud yesterday. I had a rather stressy moment and then sorted my thoughts out, I have a mindmap on my bedroom wall, many essays to write and exam revision to do, a job to find and rent to pay. Exams are in three weeks, meek!
I seem to have coined a new word, 'Scaffy' it seems to mean scruffy or messy usually.
