Looking through the snow depth link thingy you put up Titania, is it normal for most of the snow to be concentrated in Jan/Feb or do you normally get lots of snow in Nov/Dec?

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Mar 18, 2010
Don't know what's normal any more, the last few years have been very odd.
But for, let's say the first 25 years of my life, we used to get snow by the end of November/beginning of December, culminating around Christmas/New Year and then it'd start melting away in the beginning of March.

It's good to see you back, Lil. And that video was most wonderful.

Here's the full set of Before and After photies for the house: http://tinyurl.com/BensB4andAfter
The brochure goes live on the Estate Agent's site today, so what happens next is to a large extent outwith my control.
Anyhoo - I am pleased with the house though I still have the bedrooms to do and a lot of minor fettling and snagging.

It's a well known fact amongst estate agents that a well fettled house will always sell.

The house looks good there Ben. Hope the selling process isn't too stressful for you.
Lil, that is a wonderful video I wonder how many times they had to try the shot to get it right It reminds me of a Honda advert from a few years ago called The Cog - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ve4M4UsJQo which was a single take for the complete sequence

And there is also a 'making of' video about that ad as well - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI6geb2gVQw

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Mar 18, 2010
Morning all. Sympathies to those of you that suffer from migranes - thankfully I've never had one, but I'm informed that taking my worse hangover and intensifing it by an order of 10 is somewhere near the mark. Which, given some of the hangover's I've had, is a terrible thought.
Due to pretty poor hearing, I tend to turn my headphones up at work very high - to the extent that those around me can identify precisely to what I'm listening. I have, on a number of occasions offered to turn it down, but very kindly they've all said there's no point - if I turned it down to the extent they couldn't hear it, I wouldn't be able to either, also, apparently they've got so used to it they quite like it. Playing 'what's she listening to today' kills idle moments apparently. Today, however, I am listening to Carmina Burana. "what the *Hell* is that?" is a question I've been asked 3 times this morning

Very nice piccies and work there, Ben And you've given me some inspiration on what to answer when 16 claims we've got no more floor space for carpets: But, we can just pile them on top of each other, Zen style :D
Which reminds me that I had promised some Iranian colleagues that I'd send a few pics of carpets in situ at home - they sounded as if was a little odd for them to think of "around a dozen" Persian carpets way up north in a Danish house
Thought about uploading pics - but I'd have to make sure that it would be very anonymous. No need for publishing shoppng lists for just about any ...

I love Carmina Burana. Probably the screechiest bit of choral singing I've ever done, but definitely the most fun. I can still remember long chunks of it. I can understand confusion stemming from hearing it through headphones - some of it's pretty odd!

I have toyed with the idea of finding a translation of the Latin, but I decided that I like it so much, that finding out it's actually an hour of the Latin equivalent of 'This damn door's stuck' would be rather disappointing.

In taberna quando sumus seems to translate as
'Let's get drunk, oh let's get pished, let's drink lots of beer'
That's what I always sing, anyway.
