B4, if you're around, go over to the Conservatory. We're having a meet in Lincoln in October.
Hello to P&G, Eats, Bagpuss, Mol and anyone else I haven't 'hied' lately.
And I notice that Lil got post 42. Logicus, you're good, but apparently not perfect...yet.
I have to spend all evening working. I am trying to put together a sample "Dragonologist's Personal Record Book" for my teen program tomorrow. So the will have something to look at when I ask them to make their own. I have dragonscript; riddles to stump dragons; a map showing dragon locations; classifications of dragons; and assorted bits of wisdom for dragon hunters. I'll put on a dvd about dragons while I make it. Maybe that will give me some ideas.
I bought some cardstock for the covers, parchment for the inside pages and leather laces for ties. I looked everywhere for some dragon stickers and couldn't find any.

Yeah, I achieved the quilted look a long time ago. Now I think I qualify for the 'comforter look.'
Well, I'm sitting here at my new desk at my new job, which is much like my old job, except that I get to be more creative, and I have a window. Working downtown is a trip - it's like having your own television.
I vote for a shelf of librarians.

If you have the comforter look, then I have the sleeping bag look.

A Knighting? Me? You honour me above my possible contributions.
Just home (ok, not Just home, it takes a while to read a few hundred posts, all my missed webcomics, email and other assorted net detritus) so a mini report (journal entry to follow) of the Pacific Theatre Salonista Conference.
I flew in to the OC on friday, had lunch with MR then dinner with MR, Courtesy, Soeasilyamused (and D, hey fiance). Saturday I woke Courtesy up early, saw a movie with Courtey and MR, had dinner with Courtesy, MR and dw2. Other stuff happened, you will have to read my journal entry when I get it written.

Before either of them say I, I will. When not in control of a car on the freeway (i.e., when a passenger) I "meep".
That's all I'm saying. Good to know you got home okay, Marv! C got home okay, too.

Yes, Marv, you are to be knighted. It will be after lunch, my time -- I have to run down to Carrizozo in the morning and pick up my ceremonial costume.

*swings in collect his first award ever* Thanks!
Congratulations Marv! It was good meeting you. Sorry you got caught in the crossfire of my polemicist friend on Saturday.
Lentilla - Perhaps there's a First Law of Guilt. I gave up guilt a long time ago (no time for it) and maybe it is finding it's way to you. If so, I apologize.
The little I know about Buddhism has helped me a great deal with giving up guilt.
*heads off to the previous conversation to find discussions of art and a link to a free art program*
cheers,
dw2

The free program is at http://www.ambientdesign.com and, as promised, I have hung the first half-dozen contributions. They can be viewed at http://www.asterlil.com/h2g2/artrage/arhome.htm . Observe all the empty space. Only six contributions from twenty or thirty salonistas!
dw2, I have mandated that everyone must paint a painting (with any or all of the media available in artrage) and send it to me for inclusion in the art rage show.
Joanna's artwork is from a different paint app, as Amy's will be too, because they couldn't run artrage on their puters.

Is it tommorrow yet? *Runs around in small circles for a while, Ag like, wringing hands and wailing...* What am I going to wear?
*Calms down* Right, yes, painting. Was going to ask for the link again. *Folds up programme under arms looking a bit shifty and sidles out in search of clothes*

*returns from previous conversation and one 's worth of backlog; sad that I missed the politics discussion, happy that I have a new art program installed*
Thanks for the link! I've been trying to give up procrastination, but I can see that my old ways would have been rewarded here.
You won't have any trouble getting a contribution from me. I've been working on sketches for a few new painting I want to do (since Courtesy agreed to take my "roadblock" away). This program looks like a fun way to develop the sketches further before I commit them to canvas.

dw2, was it about Netflix?
*I can't imagine why I think that*
D's room is starting to take shape. I found a funky tie-dye bedspread for cheap, and some sheets that should make her skin happy...I have no idea who makes them, but they're called "bed jammies" and they're sort of strechy and satiny and t-shirty...
Anyone need a huge, all wooden dresser that's currently mostly white with purple hardware? It's got to go!

I am really going to have to make better efforts to keep up with the conversation, 3 LEDs since the thread began.

*Wearing a great kilt in Farqhuarson ancient tartan, a black doublet, black shirt and 18 hole DMs. The claymore has been replaced for the day by a very posh looking basket-hilted broadsword in leather and velvet scabbard.*
Morning all!
Hyp, if you're putting a dragon thing together I'd recommend getting the Draconomicon if you haven't already. It's a D&D book so some of it is rules and tables but the actual source material is fantastic... especially the alarmingly cute pictures of the baby dragons.

*wanders in a looks around all blinky-eyed*
Hello, so this is the new thread! I like the cinnamon bun arrangement! *nips one off the bottom where no one will notice it's missing* -- Yum!
I'm going to have to finish the previous backlog on the previous convo later -- did I mention I finally managed to get a job?
Got the call on Thursday, about replacing another agency employee who managed to be late to work three times in three days and then fell asleep on the keyboard. Her bad judgement, my good fortune.
Now I get to learn all about mortgages!

Ah, art yes. I've been trying to work up some inspiration and hope to get something done in the next couple of days while I'm off work.
Tomorrow is the 'local' RHS show at Tatton park (local in as near as one gets here, only 45mins drive away) which should be good fun and loads of garden ideas. I think we might actually buy some plants this year as the last time we went we were going away for the weekend. Then friday is just a day off work. I do hope the weather picks up as it'd be nice to go for a walk or to fly the kites.
Right I'd better get myself ready for the ceremony later. What to wear, what to wear...

And well done to SpaceCadette on the job and Lentilla on getting a window. The only view from the window I get now is of traffic streaming by on the elevated roadway that goes past (I'm in an office on the 2nd floor) That and the guys doing some roadworks on the roadway at the moment.
Hello to all those salonistas who have returned or just joined us and even those who never went away.

I *will* try to do some art, but there are a couple of things standing in my way: 1. I'm rubbish at computer art. 2. Where I put the cursor and what ends up on the canvas don't always seem to correspond.
Anyway, I've just had a flash of inspiration so when I get home I start drawing.

*Meanders in, carrying a large suit-case*
Tell me when to go and get changed for the knighting - I have my best frock right here.
*Admires Mr Dreadful's outfit. Then goes and collects a very large and two cinnamon buns, fishes her knitting out of her suit-case (a 'cobweb' weight olive-green shawl at the moment) and curls up in the corner of a sofa for a good lurk*

*wearing a rather boring set of tails, but with the tie replaced by a medalion of the Prydonian seal*
I really, really, *really* must stop getting so pissed on a week night. It was gone one when I crawled out the boozer last night .
Any sign of cats and sprogs yet?
