Yes, it's shaping up to be a quiet weekend and a small backlog. And after the Fort STanton meeting tomorrow morning, I reckon to sell some more stamps on eBay. Did very well this evening.

I imagine this will be my last post until next friday or saturday (unless I find a wireless network to utilize). Have a good week all. Don't count on me reading all the backlog, I'll have to catch the cliff's notes later.
My prediction for my first post in the new thread is 643.

Have a good week, GDZ! Remember not to sweat the petty things, and always pet the sweaty things.
Ben, you going camping? Have fun!

Drat. I'll not be going to the meet. To be honest... July has rather krept up on me and I hadn't realised. And now I have to clean the house cos my Grandad is coming tommorrow.
And I got a bit tiddly last night... and the night before, so now I don't feel well either...
Tommorrow we're going to a Prom. I promised myself I would go to some this year. So we're doing Purcell tomorrow, I'm organasing a works do for it, umm, soon. I am tracking down some old muso freinds for another, but that still leaves one or two more. Hey Ag: wanna come and see Elgar's Variations? I think it's sometime in August.

Have a good time, GDZ.
It's the local music festival this weekend, we are going today mainly to see Paul Weller.
Been playing SWG for over a year now. Dark and Light looks interesting though, out at the end of the year. Loads of players left SWG for WoW, but many have returned saying it gets boring after awhile.

I managed to get visit Tescos for essential supplies (, ). The bus didn't catch on fire and there were no deranged pensioners in evidence.

I have to admit I'm not that into Harry Potter.
*hides*
I'm pottling around Ben's flat whlist she has yet another mirgaine. .
Though this might just might, have a little bit to do with the entire bottle of Rose we *each* drank last night, when we went out for a wonderful meal at Cheltenham's poshest resturant.
We couldn't make up our minds over which of three deserts we wanted, so we ordered three deserts and two spoons.

Z, it sounds like you and Ben had a grand evening. It is rather diabolical of restaurants to make all of the desserts so tempting that you can't choose. Since you were celebrating such a milestone achievement, I think 3 desserts and an entire bottle of wine were appropriate.
Now that I have sent in the insurance claim for my HVAC system and it has been approved, I will be able to afford to eat next month. To tell you how lucky I have been - this is the first time I have ever filed an insurance claim. And considering that my old system was 15 years old and I had to have the furnace worked on three times in three years, it is actually a good thing that it was taken out by lightning. It would have needed replaced in a few years anyway and I would have had the full cost to come up with. Sometimes bad luck really does turn out to be good luck in disguise.
The new furnace doesn't have a pilot. I like that because the pilot on the old one was hard for me to light. Both units are more energy efficient than the old ones. And are quieter. The down side is that I would have liked a different brand, but the insurance agent said that they would only pay for the same brand that I had. The plumber (who knows how old I am) told me to quit whining, that it will last as long as I do. So I have decided to outlive the furnace just to prove him wrong.
I hope you all have nice weather for the meet, the seaside, camping, music festivals, etc. It is hot here. Supposed to be nearly 100ºF this afternoon. With 0% chance of rain. That sounds like a typical summer day for us.
Another work day for me. I get tired of working on Saturday, but I like having my Mondays off. Besides, the Saturday shift is 2 hours shorter than the Monday one would be. Since I'm on salary, I wouldn't earn any more by working on Monday.

I was kinda hoping to see a new thread being started but i gave up the hope and returned to this point. Seems like my busy times are over for once again and I might even find a time for the backlog. From now on. Those few thousands... But you didn't notice I was away anyway, did you?

To be clear.
Sig. S collects postcards sent by friends from or visiting foreign parts (foreign from Danmark that is). Last year when Hati visited here she promised to find a card with a church. How that turned into a (from Netherland) I'm not sure.

Mrs Zen Posted Jul 16, 2005
I confess to feeling really ashamed of myself for drinking so much last night. The stupid stupid thing is that I *know* that hangovers trigger migraines, and I still did it.
But it was a lovely evening, and the waiter seemed slightly impressed by the three deserts, two spoons approach. The raspberry creme-brulee was stunning, the chocoloate mousse amongst the best of its kind, but the passion-fruit bavorois was just very nice.
I am feeling a bit better, but am incredibly glad I am not going up to the meet by public transport in this weather. We were, rather bizzarely, going to drive to Swindon and take a train from there. However, I am a late-train fairy; not as bad as the Rain God in the last of the HH books, but Z can take the same train twice a day for a month and it'll be fine. I turn up, and it hides shyly at the other end of the line for half an hour, or an hour, or even more at times. The delay is in direct proportion to the product of the discomfort and the inconvenience. You can tell the countries, like Switzerland, which I have never visited.
Regarding wicked, Ag, I heard on the radio the other day that kids are now using 'book' as a synonym for 'cool' because it is one of the alternatives suggested by predictive text in mobile phones. Which I thought was . Oh, and another cool story about . A colleague of my ex was going out with a French girl whose colloquial English was excellent but whose formal English was not so good. She was very very bemused by the label on the back of a packet of asprin which said "Store in a cool place".
I am so glad I am not going anywhere today. I was not designed for the combination of heat and humidity which seems to be de rigeur here these days. If this is global warming, I want the icecaps to melt and the gulf-stream to shift please.
Hati - I'd have missed you if I hadn't been away myself, so we didn't know we'd missed each other.

Tartaronne, it was from Brussels. And the church... Actually we have even a saint buried in one of our churches (orthodox one) but no postcards with it.
Ben you seem to live an interesting life.

I've read a few chapters of HP6... No spoilerage from me at any point, I promise.
I like the concept of an inventory of librarians.
I am now stealing myself for the Sunday School party tomorrow. No cherryade allowed!
