Happy birthday, Hypatia. It's an infinitely comfortable boot, purple.
The US Treasury still print $2 bills. You can get them in uncut sheets here:

Happy Birthday, Hyp! Here's a flying carpet. It's very sedate and middle-aged and absolutely never ever performs aerobatic maneuvers.
Just got my $2 out to check, and yes, it was printed in 2003.

Happy Birthday, Hyp! It's a walker for your foot!
Lil, I've got an appointment next week. Hopefully, it will be good news.
I have a slew of grading in front of me...far too much, actually. But I'm going to slog thru it all this weekend. I'll get it done, and then all I will have is the final for my world history class in two weeks. Yikes. But I've got three weeks to finish this chapter, and the stuff needs to get DONE!

Good night all.

I have a new toy. Well, it's an old toy. It's an ancient Powermac G4. How did one ever live with only 9 gigs of hard drive space or only 384 megs of RAM?

Morning all.
for Hypatia - it's a just dessert. It'll keep until you get home. It looks wonderful, tastes delicious, and whoever eats it gets what's comin' to 'em, for good or bad, so serve it up to friend and foe alike and smile sweetly when they tell you how good it tastes.

Oh, sweet, Marv.
(Whyever did I think that being a wake at 6:30 meant it was a good idea to get up?)

Interesting day yesterday - my arms are still a bit sore after getting my jabs for China, and I still have to decide whether or not to go for the Hep B ones. They are more expensive (£35 each for 3 shots) and the only risk is if I have an accident when I'm there. But the series of shots, coupled with a booster a year later, does provide lifetime protection.
Conducted my first transactions on Freecycle! Got rid of Friends DVDs, magnetic words, and acquired some Mandarin books.
And my baby sis got her PhD, and is now Doctor Al.

Good for your baby sis, Beatrice!
>> the series of shots, coupled with a booster a year later, does provide lifetime protection.
The question is, how gutted would you be if you ever got Hep B, knowing you could have avoided it?

G'night, all! (Hopefully. Tom was out and about all day, so I couldn't get a nap to supplement the 4.5 hours I got,and by the time he was done outing and abouting, it was too late to be a good idea to nap, if I wanted to get any sleep tonight, which I need to do, because he'll be out all day tomorrow, too (and I've started another online scoring job, so I can't take huge chunks out of the late morning/early afternoon the next 3 weeks) so this may be a good opportunity to try to rearrange my sleep, since Tom can feed Grace (about the only advantage of Grace refusing to receive milk direct from the source, though I'll admit I haven't tried lately--hospital-grade pumps are a *good* thing))
So much for planning a short post

Beatrice, congrats to your sister...I know how hard that is!
I just finished grading everything but the final for one of my classes. I'm extremely frustrated, however, because after repeated reminders that bibliographies should be alphabetized, I got quite a few of them that were not. Just -- well, frankly, stupid. Argh!
