>> Just -- well, frankly, stupid. Argh
It always seems to me that there are marks that you get for free - for correct spelling and punctuation, for correctly following the referencing convention, and for correctly listing the references. Oh, and for not writing an answer to a question that has not been asked.
It's hard enough to get marks for writing a good answer without throwing the beggars away.
Frankly, stupid. As you say.

Stupid students, MR? Surely such people do not exist...
Bookmouse and I will learn our fates at 9am. Tick tock...
Ben's post on 'datum' makes me think of a post I saw this morning on a comics blog. Apparently, the credits have different spellings in American comic books - DC Comics employs pencillers, but Marvel employs pencilers. I find that rather intriguing, as I'm accustomed to a UK/US divide where double/single letters are concerned, but these are both American companies.

'Datum'? Who on uses it besides your besserwisser Ben? Well, except for us Swedes, but then it means 'date' as 'today's date'

I do hope everything has gone ok for David and Bookmouse.
I really must get on with things I need to leave for a bus to get me to the station to get the train to leeds in abvout half an hour. The problem is that the bus and train don't interconnect very well and I get about half an hour wait at the station. Never mind, I'm sure I'll find something to do.

Haven't seen Bookmouse, but I didn't get the post I went for, as I don't have experience - sue to working here doing the same thing for over 8 years. There's another round next week for the jobs at my current grade, when I am essentially guaranteed something, but as I didn't get the professional post, and the time I'm tied to the Unbiversity of Doom for in recognition of them paying my librarianship course fees is nearly over, it means I'll be looking elsewhere from the end of June. So they won't get a return on their investment, but that's their problem, I suppose...
Or in other words,

Due, not sue! Should have previewed.

indeed, David
Sounds like they've shot themselves in the foot.
I am harrumphing on your behalf.
My short term memory seems to be completely shot these days. I sit down and read a backlog of Atelier posts, enjoying them and composing replies in my head as I do so - but then can't remember any of it when I try to write my own post.
In future I will endeavour to sit with notepad and pencil while perusing backlog.
On the matter of Hep B shots ... I'd say Go For It. It's a very, very nasty virus.
It's p'ing down in Hants this morning but matters not as Hyp and I have no plans, other than resting and washing clothes.

indeed David. And "sue" seems an entirely appropriate freudian slip.
Teuchter, I open notepad and jot my responses in there, slurping as I do so. Hence my rambling and rather disjointed replies.

Bit of a long shot, but Marvel has a UK division, and DC does not - I don't suppose Marvel US could have caught the habit off Marvel UK?

Drat, David. They create a situation and then penalize you for it. How totally academic is that. I'm soooooo glad to be in a public library setting rather than an academic one. Sure, it is a royal pain sometimes, but at least I don't tolerate that sort of nonsense. Actually, I am quite a good person to work for, as is born out by the fact that no one ever quits.
I've gone head to head with my trustees on many occasions to get ridiculous policies dumped.
for Lil, Sporky and MR. I'm sending as much healing energy as I can muster.
I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. I wanted to do the mini-met in Leeds. But I need to rest. Unfortunately, I'm feeling my age today. So, to those of you attending, have a fab time.
There was something I wanted to say about short-term memory, but I'm dashed if I can remember what it was. Nor can I remember all of the comments I intended to make as I went through the backlog.

I'm such a techno-neanderthal and am ashamed to admit I'm not sure what notepad is or where to find it
Does anyone else worry that they might be turning into their mother?

Hi Kerr. Long time, no talk.
The pencilers is more likely to be the American version if it follows the travelers/travellers model.

Teuchter,
Notepad is a like a Word Lite. Click Start and maybe Accessories, when you type you can then paste and copy etc using right click.

That is very, very not good David.
I'm sat in a station waiting room rather than on the windswept platform waiting for the train to Leeds. Then I can meet MC for some lunch and then meet the others. Of course I could be sat in the victorian buffet bar on this station but it's probably a bit early to start on the real ...

Both notepad and wordpad are in the accessories menu. Wordpad is a very lite version of something like word. Notepad is more basic.
