I'm not here--I'm doing my scoring job and being amazed at the different ways 5th graders can spell things that I'd not seen *my* students misspell in quite the same way... Fortunately for them, I'm scoring a math question, so spelling doesn't matter!

The Macintosh version of Excel was born in Hell and raised in Redmond, and clearly is the sibling of Word. It's a shame, because Microsoft apps on a Mac used to be very, very nice. The only time I ever use swear words is when I use Excel. Or when I accidentally stab my foot with a shovel, which is much the same thing.

It's been years since I used edlin, but hey, I still have my DOS 6 manual, so I could relearn it in no time.
lostmonalisa seems to be lost. I am going to do that section tomorrow, with a view to starting the new thread after the weekend.

Driving in Manchester gives me Tourettes so badly that I even shock myself.
Mini and Z are asleep upstairs but I decided that one of us at least should be awake before we set off driving.

yeah, the new Excel for Macs is perhaps the worst thing I've ever used. It's just so counter-intuitive. And a pain to program!
Oh, and I got the results from the MRI -- 5 interstitial tears in the peroneous longus, and severe swelling and trauma to both that tendon and the peroneous brevis. Also, associated swelling to the plantar fascia. Basically, they want to get me off the foot, and I'm picking up the knee walker on monday. I've got two months on that, and then they'll do another MRI. If it's healed, great. If not, surgery. However, the doctor is pretty sure that the tears are small enough that as long as I get the weight off the foot, they should heal pretty well. Good news!

The body's ability to heal itself when given the opportunity is truly amazing. I'm glad the doctor thinks staying off of the foot will do the trick. 
T and I will be leaving for Kew in about two hours. It will be fun to see everyone.
