I could scribe, though I'd need a few pointers on how to do it properly. If, in fact, "properly" is an adverb that can be aptly applied.

Lil, if you get no other takers I would be happy. But if anyone else is dying to scribe I will hand the pleasure over to them.

Penny Whistle, lentilla's effort is a paradigm. You don't actually have to write the notes out in proper sentences though -- lists are fine.

You make a note of brand new arrivals, people showing up after a long absence, birthdays and towel days. You try to figure out who is last to arrive.

You make a note of topics discussed, personal news announced, or significant events.

And that is about it!

If Penny Whistle doesn't want to do it, I'll happily accept Marv's volunteer.

Nice scribing Lentilla smiley - ok - Happy birthday, Ormy <flags&balloons>smiley - cracker - Here's to Dave Allen who made us laugh at absurd authorities smiley - stiffdrink.

smiley - ta to several for all the inside knowledge of how you think and feel about yourselves combined with too much weight. Have I told you that my daugther (18) has an eating disorder combined with depression? Anorexia last spring. Down to 42 kg. She broke the anorexia and had a horrible time with overeating. She gained weight frighteningly rapid to herself and that caused her a lot of grief.
I felt powerless hearing her cry herself to sleep every night, hearing her declare that she wanted to be dead, being angry because she lost her youth, hated her 'fat' looks, in fact got nauseous when she looked at herself and wouldn't allow anybody to touch her because of that. I couldn't even hug her to comfort her smiley - sadface

And I had a hard time to understand. Because I think in principle looks don't matter or *shouldn't* matter. She is intelligent, funny, clever, very creative, kind, social...and beautifull, I think. But then. I think all people are beautifull - including myself (most of the time smiley - winkeye)

But these are times when looks and not minds and actions send the important messages about who you are - it seems. And it is very complicated to figure out what is in and what is not. I have never really spent time on looks - clothes and what have you - in myself and others, so I'm a total ignorante.

I think my husband is the most handsome and sexy man I know. And he is overweight, balding, has a crooked nose and wrinkled hands and, and, and. ..smiley - laugh

I'm sure I've told you that my daugther is now much better. For five weeks she hasn't cried about food or looks.

Last autumn she started treatment at a Centre for Eating Disorder - a department of a Psychiatic Hospital in Ã…rhus. She is on medication for the depression and has weekly talks with a doctor from the center. For the last three weeks they have mostly talked about dreams. She weighs about 60 kg. 168 cm tall. Dances, does yoga and eats very healthily.

David, here's one for you.

A man chewing gum so hard it made my jaw ache just watching him came in a few minutes ago carrying three books to be returned. They were due on March 18. He wanted to know if he had to keep them until the exact time they were due or if he could turn them in early. So circ told him he could turn them in today. He said he was relieved, because his date due slip said they were due March 18 at 11:59 pm and he didn't want to stay up that late.

I'm going to go bang my head against a wall, now.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

I will happily volunteer Marv to do the scribing!

Re: Single/married people. Been there, done that, got the divorce decree. I will happily stay single for awhile. I'm enjoying my rebachelorhood.

Re: Weight. Some of my best friends are overweight, it's never been a real issue, for me at least, that they are.

Happy B-Day Ormy.

MR - We definitely need to hang out more, and yes the Limey's g/f was really cool.

I'm single, and loving it. I would like to find someone to settle down with, but I'm beginning to wonder if as I get older I'm going to be willing to let someone in. We will see.

Hyp, I'm impressed.

Watching Comic Relief and bawling helplessly at the little kids being reunited with their families.

Oh, and I sliced my finger open on the tinfoil take-away container. Typing seriously awkwardly now, so shall stop and go and find the tissues.

Greensleeves

*Greensleeves appears, trembling, at the door of the Atelier*

*She is wearing an elegant green dress, of course, with long kid gloves, and she drips with faux pearls. There appears to be a round red ping-pong ball nestled precariously within her undoubtedly impressive ebonpoint. Not so precariously, in fact. The ping-pong ball has a shock of multicoloured hair and a slightly glazed expression. No surprise, really, since its ears are smothered.*

*"Thank you for the mention in the Introduction, darlings" she says.*

*The assembled company fear an Oscar moment...*

"...thank you, thank you all... I love you all so much..."

*Rightly so. Someone is going to have to shut the diva up, or she'll be talking, or worse, singing till Gwyneth's next Premier.*

Thank you, thank you. I'll just put my nose into this little drinkie here....

*and sure enough.. the red ping-pong ball is finally dislodged, and bounces around in the large gin that the diva takes comfort in.

I've also been watching Comic Relief tonight. Lots of very sad stories smiley - sadface but good to know that donations will make a real difference.
The footage of a small boy sobbing over the death of his parents, from HIV AIDS, had me crying too.

There was a big shindig at the British Museum today - Blair, Brown and the whole world poverty thing.
Geldof was also speaking and had an interesting statistic: if everyone in the developed world donated the price of half a stick of chewing gum per day, poverty in the third world would disappear.
Simplistic, of course - but doesn't it make you think?
