I just realized that I have no idea what I'll be getting for Christmas....hmmm....normally I've at least got a feeling....

Montana Redhead (now with letters)

I have a funny feeling I know what 4 of the 5 presents I'm getting are going to be. Now, if I could just figure out what the heck the BF got me. It's in a Harrod's bag, but he hasn't been to London all that recently, so I'm all atwitter.

Hypatia, hope F liked pine smells. I lit the pine candle for him earlier today. It's still going.

Off to open some presents with friends tonight. Hopefully, no one will hate what they get!

*slathers her hands with IN lotion and passes it around*

Here, try some of this. The fragrance changes to suit you. Mine is brandied peach.

It probably says something about my housekeeping skills that after I have 30 people trudge through my living room the house ends up cleaner than it normally is. But I don't want to hear what that is saying.

smiley - redwine for F. I couldn't get a balloon today, but I lit a candle too.

And Affy, don't leave us in suspense! What was the reason for that posting in your journal?

Ew... that warm glow! Get it off me! I can't get clean!

Woke up this morning at 7:56, just in time for the dawn of the winter solstice. Wonderful pink sunrise... Is there some particulate matter in the air that's turning all the sunrises surgical-appliance pink? Took some cold medication and went back to bed. It's snowed here all day, which is weird for Ft. Worth. Cold and nasty outside.

R.'s Christmas presents are all finally gotten... the new Terry Pratchett is out (Going Postal) so that's an easy one, and I'm replacing his copy of Callahan's Chronicals, which he keeps loaning out to people who like the book too much. And I just got his guitar fixed. So that's the last one down, and I'm finally done with shopping. I hereby resolve to shop before December next year! This is ridiculous.

Merry Christmas, folks! I'm off to Austin to visit the folks, and I'll be back Tuesday or so. Have a happy, be very safe, and stay warm!

It's snowing.

Now most people would not think much of that fact. In fact, most people around SLC are more than likely thrilled at the idea of a White Christmas. I however am not that happy. I've got to drive 20 miles up the canyon to get to work to make more of the white stuff. I *hate* driving through the, well, driving snow.

On another note, tis my last day of work prior to Christmas, and I have not been overwhelmed by xmasy crap this year. I'll go to church with my family and friends and be done with it!

And just nine more days left in a year I am glad to have behind me.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

It is indeed sn*wing. I will likely have to go shovel it in an hour or so. I hate sn*w.

Bah! Humbug! smiley - nahnah

Four hours of work this morning and then the long drive home. No snow predicted, but strong sidewinds for 4 hours or so, which is a whole new way of defining 'fun'.

127 posts since yesterday morning smiley - yikes. But I did read them all and the Atelier is a wonderful place.

Last trip to the supermarket this morning, last tidy up, ice the cake and then I'm ready.

Good luck with the driving Marv and B.

I just need to clean my flat and await a package from DHL. I got a letter the other day saying they can't find my flat (I really should put above Shop X in my address because then people would find it). My achivement for yesterday was to manage to install firefox. Without an RPM, just two linux books, three websites and a friendly smiley - geek

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

We always have trouble getting stuff delivered too Z - our house in on one road but the post office has designated part of another. This means that the postcode lookups that everyone does pull out the wrong road and we have to include "access via road x" in the first address line. Really annoying when they haven't given you enough space in the address line and there isn't a comments field.

smiley - puffk - hoping my delivery of wine from virgin hasn't gone too far astray - they emailed me yesterday to say it had arrived but there is no sign of it yet... smiley - yikes

The final throws of Freddie have blocked my toilet. Well, actually, I'm pretty sure it was me, whci makes it all the more irritating. House hunting would have been a disaster if it hadn't been for my two irripressibly entusiastic and optimistic freinds who came round after and were irrepresibly enthusiastic and optimistic at us until we gave in and cheered up. On the downside I'm ill with what now seems like Sol's traditional "I've got a holiday, let the immune system crash" illness. I peaked too early with Xmas this year: I was ready and up for it at the begining of December, and now the additional waiting has worn me down. Still, off to the aged P's tomorrow, which should be fun, and will probably bring it all rushing back.

smiley - redwine lifted for F and Hypatia.

Off to stick a coathanger down the loo. Upp the loo? Whatever. I'll come back and dog shake at y'all in a bit...

Oh, and at another time, remind me to tell you about the week I went to both B's and my Grandmother's' (I refuse to disect where that apostrophe goes) funerals, in Moscow and Shropshire respectively. Obviously eaqually traumatic yet beautiful, and obviously both very different and heartbreakingly similar at the same time. Anyway.
