Enjoy your rest, Hypatia. It'll do some good.
I've gotta say that link of toys isn't just for the seventies. I was born in eighty-five, and I recognized a good number of those. Heck, I still play with Rubicks Cubes and Finger Frights.

Happy holidays to all those who are away from Hootoo . I'll be here for the duration. Unfortunately, I'm not a well ant atm but I've just breakfasted on Beecham's and jaffa cakes
and if that won't make me better, nothing will.

Morning everyone!
for Hypatia.
A couple of asprin for Amy if she needs them, (they are Magic, Amy, and will be whatever pharmaceuticals you want them to be, and no need to read spam to get them).
Awake, but feeling sleepy. Nothing to do today as such, which is good, though things I can be getting on with if I want to feel I am Using My Time Constructively.
The person I love the most is very far away at the moment, and I do find that hard at times.
On the other hand, I am particularly blessed with friends who are very close, and who I will be seeing over the next ten days or so.
Why don't we have a smiley and a smiley with one of those things you put in your mouth and blow and they unroll and make loud rude noises?
(I wonder if I could buy some today without besmirching myself with Christmas-Eveness?)

I'm glad we were able to participate, Hyp, and that F's send off was such a splendid one.
Well, after an initial first flush of success following a rootle with the coathanger (is that a pun or what, eh, eh?), we (although by 'we'I actually mean 'B') ended up having to dismantle the toilet entirely, but I am happy to report that we now have a fully functioning loo again. Splendid.
Off to buy some cheese and then catch a bus up to my parents. Techno junkies that they are though, will have internet access there, but in case of not getting online, a big Xmas hug to you all.

Who are you infatuated with, Marv? Or has it been explained in the Backlog? (I did read it, but I was Distracted by IM and TV at the time).

I must admit, I'm curious as to your infatuation as well, Marv.
Your little link to Christmas toys past (which gave me quite a nostalgic rush, might I add, as I've got no end of toys just like that still in my house, right next to my eighties and nineties stuff) provides a perfect little segue to my current joy of the day.
I went out Christmas shopping, and hopped to the toys section for fun. It seems that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures are, once again, a hot commodity, filling up unwholesome amounts of shelf space!
So naturally, I had to splurge a bit....it was either the Giant Mouser Robot, the FootTech Ninja, or Casey Jones. I would've considered Quarry to, but they didn't have Quarry it seems (plenty of the other "monster people", but not Quarry....). I went with the Giant Mouser, where it now sits on a little shelf just above my computer monitor.
Here's a picture! http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/features/toyfair/images/tmnt/tmnt_5.jpg
It's not a very clear one (especially of the "head"), but the "official" picture of it at Playmates' website is filled with vital statistics and stats and histories that make me remember just how much of a nerd I am for getting into this series.
Anyway, sorry for rambling there....this is just my first real action figure thing in years, and it's a bit of a rush.

Nipped into town first thing and picked up the turkey. On getting home I remembered what was causing a little niggley feeling; I should have switched on the small fridge in the garage to put the turkey in.
Brandy butter and trifle to make today, a couple of presents to wrap, tidy up the sitting room and that should be me done. Except that I will fiddle about with things and stuff, get my eye drawn towards something soppy on tv and the best part of the day will have shot past with all the above still to do!

Happy christmas to all those that are away for the holidays - I'm not going anywhere so ther rest of you can have proper christmas greetings in the morning
Hyp, please do get some rest now Thank you for allowing us to take part in Frank's service
I'm sure I've forgotten lots of christmas stuff, but if we don't have it now, we aren't getting it! Wish I wasn't working today...

I've been up since 8.00am and have achieved the sum total of zero so far. Spent a bit of time on here, read a few chapters of my new book, had lots of coffee and am still in my nightie.
And do you know what?
I just am not going to get stressed about it.
Did anyone else hear about the research from Glasgow which found that having a good, brisk walk on Christmas Eve helped the body deal with all the dietary excesses on Christmas Day?
I also read that one needs to walk 23,900 steps to burn up the calories consumed on an average Christmas Day.
To paraphrase ... "Eat, drink and be merry - for tomorrow we walk a long, long way to make up for it"

Mrs Zen Posted Dec 24, 2004
We have to walk 23 kilometers, or thereabouts, to make up for Chrimbo dinner?
*sigh*
I too am pj-ing around. I have one more pressie to pack, and a couple of visits to make I think. I offered to not leave Gloucestershire until Rainbow has got back from the supermarket, so that I can pick anything up that she has not been able to get ahold of. There is friendship and FRIENDSHIP and offering to go into a supermarket at mid-day on Christmas Eve is FRIENDSHIP. So let's hope she gets everything she needs.
Lovely sunny day here. I am going to have a bath, get dressed, buy some ciggies, and generally get a bittie more active.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Dec 24, 2004
After some faffing about with my pedometer, I find that my steps are about 60 cm long (I don't have a long stride) so I'd need to go about 14 and a half kilometres. Hmmm, back in the gym for me when it opens in the new year...
Did most of my shopping on wednesday - wouldn't fancy sainsburys today. That is a BIG offer Ben! Mind you, the stress and rushing around might contribute to the calorie burn in advance of your christmas dinner

I think tum is probably slang and therefore not allowed.
Surprised we've got rib and hip but no leg to stand on
So that is 8, two more to go:
ear, eye, arm, toe, hip, lip, rib, leg...
