Well, the strike is a fact - no buses run in Stockholm today, except buses that replace a commuter train line that is under repair. I do feel sorry about those who live along the tube line that is also under repair - now they have no public transport options at all.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Stockholm, also known as the Venice of the North. As from today, public transport in all of the Stockholm area (including suburbs) consist in tube, tram and commuter train. If you need to get to a place not covered by these means of transport, you'll have to walk. Or bike. Or drive your own car. If you don't own a car (because of the usually excellent options of public transport) well, poo on you.
My colleague (who drives to w*rk) reports there is chaos on the roads today, with people not used to driving during rush hour...
I heard the oddest comment on the news last night, uttered by a self-important union leader (why do union leaders always have that attitude? It's not helping their cause) about how they demand 11 hours of nightrest for their drivers, like everyone else.
Excuse me? I must have missed an importan piece of information, because there are a lot of businesses where the rest between two shifts is limited to 8 hours (like the hotel business).

It must be causing chaos.

Agreed, WA. She always lets us know when she's going to be away for a while.
Matina, we are going to need extra m'bougatses and cinnamon buns. And lots of strong coffee. We need energy for pacing. I may wander back into the library to make sure the rift portal is firmly secured. But I don't think she would make a journey like that without telling someone of her plans.
