"Wimbledon... that's that place where the people hit the little balls with the things, right?"
That's the one, yeah.

My uncle went today, he apologises to everyone for causing the change in the weather...

It's weird that they'd had about one day's rain in the first seven days, and they've had about two or three already today. it was lovely hen I was there, saw about nine hours of tennis and got a nice tan.

It's humid here too, kinda like being slapped with Lentilla's hot, wet liver.
Lentilla, keep that thing to yourself.

Morning, all. Good to see Lil's okay, and is in contact with d'E.
The mothers in this thread are certainly stronger willed than I am. No coffee for *how* long?

Glad you've rejoined us, Lil, it Wouldn't be Lil's Atelier without you! Matina would have to open her own m'bougatses cafe or something...
The weather in Silicon Valley is cool, sunny (once the fog lifts), windy in the afternoons and *way* too cold for summer! We had just 3 days in the past month where it was warmer than 87F. Ususally it's in the high 60s to the low-to-mid 70s. I'm told this is not normal. With the afternoon winds, this valley should be covered in windmills. Oh, yeah, almost forgot -- no rain to speak of until September or so -- typical California, brown hills and all.
BTW, how's your health, Marv? Do they know what was hurting yet?

The problem seems to have cleared up on it's own. I canceled the appointment I had with a doctor about it.

That's great, Marv. Perhaps it was stress related. You've had more than your share of that lately. It will really do a number on your health.

Good news indeed, Marv.
Been a bit warm and rather drizzly here this afternoon. Shame we were playing tennis and everything.

Bea must be in Florida. I hope she's having a good time.
Speaking of coffee...I sincerely sympathize with our expectant/nursing mothers. I don't like decaf at all. I need my caffeine. Need it bad. Have to have my coffee.

So, we'll try to launch a new thread on the weekend, OK? Friday happens to be my day off.
As to the reason(s) for my absence, well, I'll talk about it eventually. At the moment, I'm still having the experience.

I knew I meant to mention something
Coffee! What's the gig with decaff? Take all the flavour out as *well* as the caffeine. I just don't see the point. Minging stuff . Might as well drink ditchwater (that probably tastes better anyway)
*waves flag with the caption 'Leave my caffeine alone'*

*in general do not understand decaf coffee, alcohol-free beer, sugar-free Coke (no, not that sort ) or such stuff*
*am well prepared to accept that some people either do understand or have to understand - don't worry *

On decaf: If I were told I had to go off caffeine I may switch to decaf, I do like the taste of coffee. Regarding the flavor of decaf, American Food Network TV Star Alton Brown (does his show get across the pond?) explained it on his show once, and I remember, it goes something like this:
Removing the caffeine does, indeed, affect the flavor of the coffee. This can be compensated for by starting with a very, very high quality bean and a high quality roast. Unfortunately, doing so costs money. And the decaffeinating process itself costs money. So to serve decaf coffee at the same price as regular, most roasters have to skimp on the quality of the bean that goes in in the first place, and perhaps on the roasting process as well. 'Tis a shame.

I have a four day weekend. I'm going camping.
It seems my new car does not like Amy Winehouse. The stereo plays everyone else's CD just fine--it's currently running on 70's era Stevie Wonder--but whenever I put "Back to Black" in, no matter the slot (it plays six CDs) or the order, the display tells me "NO CD".
My car says, "They tried to make me play the Winehouse, and I said no, no, no!"

I'm just glad I never developed a taste for coffee, so I don't have to give it up I'm also definitely liking that the first trimester sleepies are hitting during summer vacation, so I get to sleep in!
Faith is busily putting tape around her scissors so that they're safe for the baby And she's already been singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" to my belly (though of course, at this point, the only belly visible is what was there before I conceived--I *was* going to go to the gym a lot this summer, but since I'd not been in aaaages, this isn't the time to start a new routine...)
The multiple As in ages was an accident, but I'm keeping it anyway

Gosh, I need to check in more regularly. My period of worry for Lil was very short as I read through the thread.
Coffee is not something I like, but I still appear to be addicted to caffeine in cola form. FG's comment on Amy Winehouse nearly made me spray some of said caffeinated whatever-it-is over my keyboard.
I may be doing yet another show next month. If I do, there'll be a mad two weeks where I am involved with a concert season, an oratorio and two musicals. I think I must be insane!
