I could not get near this conversation to post, and out of four tries I couldn't raise the site at all three times this morning. I think you Brits should only be let on in shifts during the lunch hour.

I'm seen lots of cars with wash me writen on them, so it was a reasonable assumption.
Liked the article Z. You certainly have an interesting family.

Blue-Eyed BiPedal BookWorm from Betelgeuse (aka B4[insertpunhere]) Posted Oct 22, 2003
A funny thing happened to me on the way to the Forum...
I was trying to catch up to the Salonistas' thread because I'd been away for a while (probably still will be), so I decided to comment on the 'new' H2G2 format implemented by the BBCi. I got a little far afield with my 'left-handed compliments' to them, yet I considered them to be otherwise pithy remarks. I checked my spelling, punctuation, and grammar--as I am wont to do--then posted it and resumed my hectic schedule.
Today, I checked in on the thread only to find no new postings, which is, of course, an impossibility for the Salonistas. I homed in on the last posting, found it was my own, scrolled up one posting and found it was Stolid Ariel's notice to move to this new thread.
So, the question begs itself: What are they teaching at these American schools, if not how to read?
It's a good thing that I'm presently taking a class in Critical Thinking with the University of Phoenix (on-line). I suppose it's also self-evident that we've only started the class, because if I had passed the class and STILL made such a blunder, well.....

At least you made it in the end, B4, that's what really matters
Off to try and wade through a bit more of Umberto Eco's Baudolino, before I...................

Thanks for reading the article, I haven't been able to get hold of a paper verision of the article yet, but seeing my name actually in print will be .
I'm starting to have doubts now, mainly I shouldn't have quoted my mother without telling her. My parents still don't know about this! .. neither do they know that I'm taking drugs to help me loose weight so I'm feeling slightly guility. And people I know will take the mickey.
What is odd about the Mahrishi school is that the rebelious pupils all end up in science or medicine, whilst the more conformist ones tend to have ended up working within the movement, on Purusha or Mother Divine, or at the Maharishi univeristy, or with an arts degree.
The amount that have done genetics or genetic engineering, which the TM movement is very much opposed to, is quite strange
Should anyone want to find out more about TM there's an edited guide article, (written by me ) - A794388

Take two: I'm off to Roswell tomorrow with printer and computer. There will be someone there to meet me at the shop or I will cause structural damage.

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC Posted Oct 22, 2003
Jamie Oliver used the "w" word on television the other night and it was not bleeped, but other words were. It has about the same degree of offensiveness as "jerk" or "stupid", I think, but lends an air of Britishness to the insult. And it's not even listed at m-w.com and my American Heritage Unabridged goes from "Wankel Engine" directly to "want".
What could Amy possible be doing with Zeppo in the studio?

Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Oct 23, 2003
Well done, Z! I always like to see my friends in journals...it's rather a vicarious thrill!
As for the "w" word, I was rather scratching my head until my scouser friend Steve popped up and told me what it was. He said "jerk" was about right, and when he was that age, that was rather subversive. Which means that boy could be swearing like a sailor in 20 years!
Earthquakes...every day in the LA Times, there's the weather page, and at the bottom, it shows all of the earthquakes for the past 24 hours. There's usually a dozen or so, and very rarely are they over 3, so no one feels them. I've felt one in Montana, and 3 or 4 during my stay at the Grand Canyon, but none here yet. Irvine is apparently fairly safe in those terms, because it sits between two faults, or something.
Still, it is rather disconcerting to watch glass shimmy and trees move sideways and floors roll.

Z, congratulations on being published and it being a good article to boot! Now, have you received a topica email yet?
I can't believe it's 10 pm in the middle of the third week in October and not only have I not turned on the gas heating or lit a fire yet this season, but I'm sitting here in a short-sleeved shirt, next to an open window.
Do the clocks change in the US this weekend or next?
