'Baile' is Spanish for dance
I think it might be a bit unusual for 'straight' men to experience an ego boost when being hit upon by other men - but then I guess Z is kind of an unusual male!
July used to be the big vacation month in Sweden, the so called 'industry' vacation, when all factories shut down - due to school holidays it's still pretty common that people have their vacation in July, but in general it's a bit more spread out nowadays...

I know my brothers are going to fall over when I tell them I'm getting a Vauxhall Astra, Ben. But we do tend to be a family of car snobs! It is the 2.2 Convertible version though, styled by Bertone and looks really rather good. It won out over the Mazda MX-5 as it has air con (which I now realise does make life more comfortable when parking on the M25 on a hot day) and 6 speakers and CD autochanger . Also it is surprisingly fast.
hunting, Lil? After my last brush with one, I'm not so sure I would accompany you. It wasn't so much the as the that stayed with me for a couple of days afterwards.
Courtesy, torties are very characterful s. Have you had one before? I haven't had one yet who has been a true lap . Cassie was out again all night. She woke at the of dawn by meuuwwing on the flat roof under our bedroom window. I struggled up to let her in, but she didn't fancy the idea of jumping up. I tried to send her a mental image of her flap, but one of us is obviously not telepathic, so I had to go down and let her in through the door . Needless to say I was then wide awake.

Sounds lovely, Caer. Aircon and a convertable! (I confess to being a car-snob too, but who am I to be snobbish with an L-reg Citroen Xantia? - The world's most invisible car!)
I've just spoken to Ulrike, my best friend and my homeopath about the migraine - Wednesday through Sunday is outside of enough, even though it was only actually migraine for Thursday night and Friday night. She says that it may be caused by the remedy she gave me releasing old stuff, including old symptoms, which is interesting. I had already told her that I used to get migraines when the air pressure dropped, but hadn't for some years. She also says that I may continue to re-live my medical history for the next couple of weeks... Still if it means that I no longer get migraines, that I am no longer sensitive to wheat and to dairy, and that I no longer get thrush, it will be worth it. And I haven't got anything better to do during the next two weeks, I might as well be ill.
Off to have a gentle bath and maybe go back to bed.

I really don't remember much of last night at all. Humm I think it was the two alcopops I drank, they always give me hangovers;

Ben, I've had sinus headaches and stress headaches but never a migrane. So, are you taking some herbs that are causing you to detox? I had started the food combining thing a couple of days before Frank had his heart attack (he's doing better but wants to sleep a lot, which is unusual for him). I was having headaches (not sure what kind) and chalked it up to not having my usual caffeine in the morning. Then I used his illness as an excuse to go off of it - cna't do this at the hospital, I told myself. I can always find an excuse not to do something.
Expecting another hot day. It could rain on Tuesday, so maybe it will cool down a bit then.
Ti, Americans with kids used to always take their vacations in the summer when school was out. I don't know if entire factories closed so workers could go ion vacation or not. I doubt it.

The Rover Factory in Longbridge closes down for two weeks in July so all the workers can go on holiday.
for Ben.
I just wonder if you expect to be ill, you'll feel iller? The placebo effect I think.

My dad worked in a paper mill that closed for the first two weeks of July. The plant ran 3 shifts year round, so they shut down for annual maintenance. It didn't have anything to do with giving the workers a vacation. That was in the '60s and '70s, I don't know if the factory is still in operation.

I am not detoxing, Hypatia, au contrraire, coke and sugar actually help at a time like this!
I am very glad I had the conversation with my homeopath, though. She hadn't told me I might re-run previous patterns of illness for three weeks, (presumably to avoid that reverse-placebo effect, Z) but this is so outside my usual pattern of headache, that I was beginning to get concerned.
I am doing a massive amount of sleeping, and I like sleeping: I see it as a fairly active time during which my subconscious deals with 'stuff' - and goddess knows there is enough 'stuff' in my life at the moment for it to deal with.

I'm so glad the smiley list is closed. I have no idea how to draw an elephant who is missing his labrador .
Talking of elephants, there's a programme about them on the BBC tonight. The trailers looked promising.

Ti - I am a straight male and when I have been hit on by a homosexual male (only a couple of times) I have always felt flattered. I figure that 1) they found me attractive (always a nice thing) 2) they decided to risk the social backlash to let me know. I have always thanked them but let them know that I was straight.
Caer - I have never had a cat, other than my parents cat which is extremely independent and I believe adopted them because they will give her food and expect nothing in return. Pixel is extremely playful and will settle down when I hold her and sleep and relax. Since she is staying with dw2 this week, he might be able to tell some stories too.

Hmmm... I was thinking of two ex-colleagues (straight males) who were very homophobic - their reaction of being hit on by a gay male would probably have made them feel insulted, indicating that their behaviour/looks might be 'girlish' (or feminine) or else a gay male wouldn't be interested - I seem to remember some comments along those lines in some discussion we had at the time when we got a group reservation at the hotel where we worked - a group with only homosexual (or trans-, or bi- for all I know) people visting the Stockholm Pride Festival and Parade

I have not minded the couple of times that I have been approached by gay men.
About halfway through the emergency cleanup project. Burning incense and listening to various music is helping.
Though I did take some time out to go to Bryce's workplace and I helped him stock the cooler. It was good to walk into a refrigarator (SP?) and get out of the heat. Currently 80F in my bedroom and little chance to cool it down as I work in it.

Well if it was in the street on in a non gay venue, i might be slightly offended that I "looked gay" but I was in a gay club at the time. Though I'm quite used to the fact that people assume that I look gay at times. So he would have just assumed I was gay whether or not I looked it. I do know of several male born straight males, who have taken it as a compliment as well. Not that that matters, I've given up going to a great effort to act like a sterotypical male all the time to prove a point that my gender is male. - I just act how I feel comfortable, which most of the time is pretty much how a someone who was born male would act.
Gay clubs are also one of the places where it's a lot harder to for someone like me to "pass" as male, because it's common to meet very masculine looking women, and also people are aware of the fact that trans people exist so are more likely to assume that I am one.

My husband just called to let me know he arrived safely in Bournemouth. He took a stroll down to the beach while he was waiting for his room to be ready. Boots, your description was right on the money. He saw several waders with their pants rolled up and knotted handkerchiefs on their heads.
