Great news, Caer you must be very exicting.
I'm busy revising "Assessment of risk of harm to others" having already completely such cheerful topics as "the 1983 mental health act"
Still I've attempted to motivate myself by buying an new text book, and escaping the distractions of my kitchen by coming to the univeristy computer cluster, and popping pro plus, instead of drinking coffee.

Caer, I've very jealous. I need a new car but can't even think about it until all the medical bills are paid off. And just when I think I'm seeing daylight, he has something else go wrong.
My brother is coming from KC today. That will liven things up. He's bringing his Buster so his wife can stay home and paint the deck without worrying about paw prints. Buster is hugh! My Annie is 11 pounds and is shorter than the . Fortunately, they get along. I'm going to make kabobs on the grill and just do simple grilled veggies - eggplant, zucchini, portabellos, onions. Plus I have fresh wax beans, which is his favorite thing in the world. I have blackberry pies in the oven. It smells wonderful here right now.

Morning all. It's going to be a very long day. We have a couple of teams that are experiencing 30 times the normal volume due to a security flaw recently found in nearly every major Borg device. This does not efect me (for a change) but it does have other teams quite busy.

Hypatia, I am ing from here!
Interesting point about the look of poems on a page, Sol, and I think I agree with you. I'm always terrified of great big square blocks of verses on a page. I have to Sit Up Straight because I am Reading A Poem.
My flatmate has gone for a couple of days, which is nice. Her brother and sister came to stay last night, and I really was too ill for it. I hid, but her sister had children's tv on really loud this morning, I could manage everything but the canned laughter.
The wierdest thing about my migraines is that junk-food is the best cure. When they are finally on their way out, I can chase them away with Cadburies Chocolate Trifle, Coca Cola and other crap. The homeopathic approach, maybe.
Still a bit sore, though.

i wrote a lot here and lost it all when I accidently clicked on the wrong button.
I'm feeling a bit lost because my flatmates gone away for the weekend, tonight I'll have to go to a club on my own and meet my friends there. Though this is much more common on the gay scene than the straight scence, it's almost common place. It's unsual for me to do it in a club. I do feel a bit scared.
What's really silly is that I've been a regular on the gay scene for seven years. That makes me feel very old. I did think that by now I'd have grown out of it

and offers painkillers and for the migraine. Shame taht would have been nice. We'll have to meet eventually, btw I lost your number when I lost my phone, sorry..
Acutally I'm more scared of the fact that I've got to get a train to New Street Station and go to a cashpoint there at 10 pm. Still I won't take my mobile, or anything else mug able.

Ben, I suppose you've tried feverfew? My Dad used to get terribly migraines too, when all he could do was crawl into bed and wait for it to go. Nothing worked for him.
I have had them very rarely and they were usually associated with neck pain (I suffered a neck injury whilst lifting a patient years agao), since taking up Pilates I haven't had one in 3 years. But the cause of my migraines well be very different from the cause of yours.
I am gald that you are finally over this last one and feeling better.
This is the first and probably the last brand new car I have ever had. But I have to wait unitl Monday to hear when and if my first choice of car is available. The UK car industry shuts down for the whole of August .
Amazing to think that in the 21stC we are still hanging on to the tradition of freeing up the work force to get in the harvest, even machines do the harvesting and the workforce gets a month's holiday.

Hello all. Ah, a postcard from the edge! *tacks the card up along the edge of the butler's hatch* It's been a quiet weekend, hasn't it. So far, anyway.
I shall be in Old Fort Sumner for a couple of days next week. I'm going to be ghost hunting with digital camera and tape recorder, and a CD of baile music.

just got in, cheap drinks, but left when my friend, J, (www.gaydar.co.uk/legolas) who has been one of mybest friends for years did...
No nice ladies, though I thought (probably hopefully)that a bloke was flirting with me. I don't do men, but it's always a nice ego boost when one comes onto me in a gay club.

Well, I am still headachy this morning, which is something of a record. I am going to phone my homeopath today, and talk to her about it. I think it is the change in the weather, combined with on-going lack of real work, and the radio silence. Why on earth can't I fall in love with nice simple men in nice simple situations. Oh, yes. That would be too damn *easy*, wouldn't it!
What kind of car is it Caer? Petrol-heads want to know.
Btw - anyone who likes Cryptonomicon should also read "The Code Book" by Simon Singh - it is the RL history of the material that Stephenson deals with in fictional form.
There is a new Stephenson coming out soon too... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0380977427/qid=1058675517/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/103-0942758-5287000

I just got a kitten. 9 weeks old. Tortoise shell with lovely grayish green eyes. Loves to play, and is a definite lap cat.
She will be staying at my brothers until next Sat, when I am fully moved into my new place.

I've always wanted a tortie, but female cats don't like me for some reason. Does she have solid patches of colour, or are they brindled?

Poems that look nice are also interesting to read, speaking for myself. Amusement for the eyes.
The other day, I went a bit mad at the market and toted back huge heavy bags of veggies. Now my body seems to believe I have been doing someting terribly terribly strenuous and has reacted by seizing up compeletely. I think I'm going to have to start yoga again. I mean, honestly, I'm not even 30 yet.
